Nope this is their usual statement which they keep repeating again and again. It has no substance. China doesn't have enough amphibious capability to land on Taiwan. And if Taiwan is armed to teeth.

I know but its amusing to see their rhetoric on display even when they are at their weakest.

It's for internal consumption. Chinese don't have free media so most Chinese don't know how weak they are. It's like a toad in the well. Who doesn't even know there is a world outside .

Recently on Twitter Chinese wumao were brutally trolled by Thais. Chinese had no idea how much everyone hate them as they never saw free internet.

BTW taiwan has population of 2.3 crore and defense budget of just 13 billion usd. ( Barely more than porkistan). And yet china can't dare to attack them.

Those who think Chinese will actually fight will be let down in the end. This will end just like doklam after all hue and cry . Lol.

I'm not aware of any treaty. It is believed USA will interfere but there is no compulsion on usa to do so.

Japan and soko on the other hand are treaty bound alliance with USA troops on their soil and USA nuke umbrella for protection.

No treaty exists because of one-China policy, which entails the current status quo. Which is precisely the reason US will defend Taiwan against PRC.

Eh defending Taiwan is exactly opposite of one china stand. Anyway with Hong Kong sanction USA seems to be abandoning one china.

they might have an first mover advantage in the beginning, but that will erode pretty quickly just like for Americans.

True . And it's especially more true for remote terrain like tibet . When china can't even pour men without acclimating them first for weeks and months.
