They did the same thing to the Soviet Union in the 1970s. Chinese cowards snuck into Soviet territory and ambushed border guards and then fled. The Soviet Union promptly bombarded Chinese positions by killing hundreds of Chinese soldiers and then threatened to nuke China.

China was not so brave after that and knew better to stay out.

We did same in 67 in nathu la. Killed 400+ Chinese while we lost 80. Then they kept quite while we merged Sikkim into India and broke pakistan into two in 70s.

What enrages me in this episode is lack of official level clarity. China issued a statement within hours through their MEA channel and they are done and dusted. No one is going to dig or pick the case anymore at media level and they can proceed to act on further planning.

Whereas at our side, endless meetings, A meets B meets C meets D, and B meets C again. And TILL NOW, after 8 hours since the news first broke, we are yet to hear from our External Affairs sectretary or the defsec or EAM or DefMin. There is chaos in social media, in news media and no one knows anything. At least if they give an official statement in form of a presser, we would at least concretly know what exactly happened and can avoid chaos in opinions.

This is pathetic. China is behaving in a much mature way and as a nation more akin to an upcoming global power. Whereas we are simply too unorganised. Harsh, but true.

Good observation. Looks like India conducted a tactical operation and inflicted heavy casualties on Chinese to shake them up and to soften their position.

Chinese have presented this angle in a lot of different press I have seen. They seem
to have done a good job in the media with rallying world opinion. They are trying
to project a defensive posture and trying to act like they are defending their territory.

Pakistan is out of question. Nepal is a very small matter which can be taken care of like we did with Yameen. But vs China, we are clearly showing a lack of spine.
