It appears Ladakh is going to need two more Mechanised Brigades... and the third Mechanised Brigade at Lipulekh...

I am from Kerala.

Sorry,I dont know anything about ground realities in tibet but I think they will welcome us .
But tibet isn't a disputed territory, Gilgit is,which means no international support but only condemnation.
Also I am no military expert, but how can we beat the PLA in Tibet and hold it?.

Gilgit on the other hand we could have gained back in 1971 itself (atleast as i understand it)
Tibet is a disputed territory.

Bill in US Congress to recognize Tibet as independent country

How can they counter us? Any map based your observations would be helpful.
See the Sketch above giving the layout of the Chinese Raod network opposite Ladakh.
One more thang is sure. There will be attempts at a conversance of Pakistan and the Chinese attacks here through Skardu - Siachin - Karakoram Pass.

There lot at stake but not as easy as the Chinese might be thinking.

oh yes, i was making the same point few year back. in one of these indo-china military excercies, they edited their version of video shown in CGTN in such a way that it looked as of chinese guy was giving instructions to Indian side. they have fragile egos, so they overcompensate. like in this case bringing an APC against a foot patrol. they can justify which ever way they want, but outside world will always view it as over compensating.
Even the official poster had the crossed rifles. They had their bullpup toy xyz-95 or whatever that is named, but replaced insas picture with a musket for the other (Indian) one.

Such cheap mindset.

LOOOOOL
GT at it again. I like this fear...
Since the Doklam standoff with India in 2017, China has made various breakthroughs with high-altitude weapons for #border defense like Type 15 tank&GJ-2 drone as #PLA boosts its border defense capability facing threats especially on China-India border. https://t.co/djiIgKjeSI https://t.co/DmXw8RsevM

:
So within two years they developed and also deployed new weapon systems. What is this USA R&D mutiplied by atleast 50??!!!

So what could be a reason we have not used Tibetians living in India to fight alongside IA? They have acclimatized for the terrain well.

They were used in 1971 war so why not now? Tibetians would be mentally more eager to fight off Chini.

[--Redacted--]
They are special people with special capabilities and will give PLA a run for their money..... They will be useful no doubt..

The writer must either be delsuional or delusional.

India is fighting your wuhan virus on one front, Kashmir insurgency on another, an economic crisis on another, a migrant crisis on yet another, communal riots on another, and have just been hit by the largest cyclone in the past 100 years, that too in our eastern region.

And you think we'd pick a fight with China? Are you people this delusional?

I have another theory.

Xi Jinping has Jiang Zemin's faction at his throat, sparing no effort to ensure that he gets out after his 10-year term; Coronavirus is his Chernobyl moment (with 1000x more global- and geopolitical impact), he's losing big to the US in his trade-war; is unable to pull off that big Taiwan invasion that he dreamed of; and as of yesterday, the US closed HK special trade terms, stripping Chinese businesses of at least $800 billion in annual transshipment volume taking advantage of HK's independent trade relations.

So Xi now wants to pick a fight with nuclear-triad equipped India to create a major diversion, because he knows Modi won't repeat Nehru's mistakes, there will be an escalation, and that will keep both the CCP and the Chinese masses distracted.

This also explains why there are units from outside PLA Western Theater Command at Pangong Tso.

Frankly, if India wanted to pluck low-hanging strategic fruits, we would hit Pakistan. Your president is feeding you the sweetest hunny.

It doesn't make sense.

Major Chinese news outlets is still silent about what's going on along the border, it's clear that a military conflict with India is not something to be expected and to be made public soon.

It's something that India forced on China, just like what happened in 2017, and just like in 2017 PLA can't stand down.

I guess India picked China because Modi figures that China is mature and more restraint in using military force, no surprise to be expected even if a war breaks out, hence things won't get out of control.

Mature power don't ram and sink vietnamis boat. China is anything but mature. It is ruthless and since Xi thinks this is right time to strike against Hongkong and Taiwan

On the other hand, China has many reasons to pick a fight with India. It would be a long-drawn spectacle to keep CCP and the Chinese masses distracted so Xi could shake off his colossal foreign policy failures (COVID-19, US-PRC trade, HK, TW, BRI loan defaults, and more).

As of today Xi Jinping does not deserve to sit one day more to sit in office than his 5+5 year term. He has done nothing spectacular for China that the past 4 presidents haven't.
Did you just watched India TV or what?? These are the same elements that were mentioned there.

Anyway, you are right, damn right!!:dude:
