GOI acting is correct manner. GOI has sounded all allies for help which is the way to go. The first and foremost is to secure critical equipment and ammunition. Second will be to act in concert with allies (if possible). Third is to activate reserves (as people need retraining) and put recruitment in high gear. People can be drawn from state police forces as well.

More firing ranges and test ranges will be needed. Ammo is specially critical now. Production of ammo has to go up several times.

now what's status of our own indigenous air defense systems like Akash, PAD-I, PAD-II, AAD, ABMI, Akash? has any of these system deployed at border? any of them in production?

Isnt India development partner or joint venture of Barak 8 and SAM systems. Why we have to buy it ? Why we are not getting whole technology and making in India ?

I am not defence expert. I read through the posts by folks who have served, who have an idea of the terrain and our military strength and weaknesses.

Given this context, here is an interesting thread on Twitter. He gives convincing justifications why India can beat China if it comes to a war. Wanted to understand from knowledgeable folks here if this is plausible. I am only posting the first tweet, but it is a thread so please read the thread.

No need to change engine. Continue to use American engine. In fact sourcing engine from USA is better in current conditions.

Indian engine is not ready and may not be ready any time soon.

We will be dependent on American engines then they will blackmail us by threatening to cut the supply of spares

There is a very high probability that the wording in that article is different.

BDL produces the missile but it's going to take some time to get delivered so we are getting the System produced in israeli may be for Azberian but got diverted to india

No recruitment required..

GoI has following border guarding forces...

* BSF - 186 battalions
* SSB 67 battalions
* ITBP -62 battalions

In CAPF only half of the force is on active duty at any one time. Leave aside BSF which is required in Full stenght on India _pakistan borders.
But half of SSB battalions can be puled into Ladakh.
Complete ITBP force must go to respective ares on LAC.
Some battalions of CISF can also be made available for Ladakh.

An addition of about 30 battalions for Ladakh will be good enough to to take up defenses , guard road axis, installions, take Defenses in depth and beef up forward defenses.
