Tracking is a different ballgame from taking pictures.

Tracking would require a radar satellite likely. Dunno if India has any.

We discussed about it earlier on this thread. Even though its a threat, but it's effectiveness is questionable near hilly terrain such as ladakh.

Plus, chinse s400 have less range then our version.

IAF have plan A, plan B, plan C ... all the way upto plan Z.. to counter or neutralize the threat.

I never expected China to move S400 on its western front. How many systems actually? It means China has realised that India is the real threat & not Japan. They are willing to do everything. IAF actually had a advantage over PLAAF now it is more like a even field. It also means that they don't trust their other air defence systems to do the job. I guess they must've deployed S400 near their critical air bases like Hotan. War is happening that's for sure.

Bit tired of watching and reading reports about the impending war with China. Either the Chinese ba**ds wage war or withdraw to April 2020 positions. If they don't plan a war then why are they increasing troops and equipment like artillery and tanks. You cannot keep strike forces on a permanent basis in mountain terrain. Are they trying to psyche us out and weaken us mentally. We keep on expecting a war which doesn't happen.

Enough of this hide and seek. India should immediately take over an large parcel of land in Tibet and force the Chinese hand. They will then react. The Chinese need to suffer large casualties in the thousands and body bags should reach numerous Chinese homes. No doubt there will be losses on our side also. But we need to change the mindset of the PLA that India is a pushover and they can continue to do salami slicing in Indian territory. Only if they suffer large pain, will they think 10 times before attacking India.

The Vietnamese did exactly that. They instilled fear in the Chinese. They know that they will feel pain if they provoke the Viets. They will not consider an land invasion of Vietnam in haste.

If Gokhale is lying, it is because he has been told to put a narrative as information control to preserve OpSec and give forces and Govt breathing room.

However, it's unverifiable. If indeed be is saying the truth, there's no way to actually verify that Indian troops have taken over Chinese tents barring someone decides to draw a huge Indian/Chinese flag on the roof.

There was not much proof to conclude tents were Chinese other then that they were pink and Chinese used pink somewhere else.

What possibly are the political goals of Chinese Military Adventure in Ladakh ?

The way events are unfolding there are only two plausible estimations of the Chinese Political Goals.
Firstly - To punish India for developing political. diplomatic and military proximity to USA seen as the main enemy of China. In super power arrivals hitting an alley is considered as conveying the massage of strength as also
an action to hurt the adversary.

Second. The goal could be exclusively India centric to eliminate competition for China in Asia and convey a massage to USA and hostile Asian countries about Chinese supremacy. This is being done by a military action against India directed at destroying the nationalist image of Narendra Modi. bring down his regime and promote a weak Congress or coalition regime. This would also addresses some of the key concerns of China such as restoration of Article 370, security to BRI and CPEC and assuring security to it client Pakistan.

The second goal seems to be more probable as that somehow addresses the first goal also. In both the center of gravity is Narendra Modi and his image which is sought to be destroyed by imparting a military blow and orchestrate a massive psy operation in conjunction with oppositions. communists in India. Muslims and India;s neighbors to bring down Modi.

Modi is the main target.... Then hold Chinese firmly on LAC and launch a counter offensive at home turf is the correct strategy Modi seems to be following..
