i think daya, is right, they didn't died for telegana or punjab. they died for india as whole. you cannot discriminate soldiers who died for nations. his sacrifice is not any less just becoz he doesnt belong to particular state.

Compensation are paid at two levels - The central govt and state govts.

The central govt pays it as per ranks at equal levels.
State govts are not bound to pay anything but pay it as per their political and other considerations such as population size of serving soldiers, vote bank politics, annual compensation outgo on that account , the party in power , the CM factor, and value of media effects of such activities. Hence it is diffrent from state to state.
Mostly police people land up getting more compensations because police is of more value to administration and politicians.

Whose perception and whose narrative. Most of countries believe US assessment of 35 dead Chinese and that's on all over social media.

No one believes a word chinese say. Against china we will win global narrative every single time.

But again that's not because others believe us but because others are too anti china now including USA uk France and Australia and most of Europe + Japan taiwan and Korea.

People here have to stop worrying about narrative. A country that supports china will always say china is right no matter what you proove.

What you are telling is a very principled decision. Would have gone a long way in reinforcing national unity.
And these are not compensation but ex-gratia. So no legal or hierarchical need to diffentiate in amount promised. So, could have been done, but when in general state governments forget to respect fallen soldiers, this decision by Telengana is appreciable.
