i think daya, is right, they didn't died for telegana or punjab. they died for india as whole. you cannot discriminate soldiers who died for nations. his sacrifice is not any less just becoz he doesnt belong to particular state.
Compensation are paid at two levels - The central govt and state govts.
The central govt pays it as per ranks at equal levels.
State govts are not bound to pay anything but pay it as per their political and other considerations such as population size of serving soldiers, vote bank politics, annual compensation outgo on that account , the party in power , the CM factor, and value of media effects of such activities. Hence it is diffrent from state to state.
Mostly police people land up getting more compensations because police is of more value to administration and politicians.
