One could have a better relationship with China since it will be mutually beneficial.

However, what is the way to bridge the trust deficit?

I am sure all the people that gather to greet Modi are thinking if he is a Pakistani ... why would Chinese people like India

Also not sure if it is wise to show such large sudden gatherings in PRC ... there were some people climbing some columns ... perhaps it is a feeling and sense to be part of some group mentality with the modern phone camera systems

No one in PRC is knowing who is Modi and India right ...

Let the Chinese posters come, they will give the right explanation. [emoji16]
It is very much possible that the web sensored Chinese have mistaken Modi as a Pakistani. Chinese people generally don't become such crazy unless their Iron Brothers [emoji375] visit China.

Sure !!

Especially like the part where the security guard (was it shouting - 00:05 ??) from PRC trying to tell the PM to go and move away from the people. And the response is exactly what we need: Go to the people (see from 00:02 -> 00:12)

This posted by Narendra Modi ... for world peace and development ... we will explain what is non-violence :india2:

I can not understand why Indians are so bad in propaganda; even when there are genuine reasons and occasions to present it.

Like OOE said somewhere, ''Indians sucks in propaganda''.

When modi landed at Xian airport there were some visuals of modi with a little girl with red scarf. the lil girl did a salute kind of thing which modi reciprocated. any idea what it meant?

Chinese just give a visitor due hospitality, no more, no less.

Meantime there shall be no illusions about bilateral relations. Good fence makes good neighbours. Modi's top agenda is to boost Indian economy (Make in India), not those Look East stunts or big-power-diplomacy overtures.

What's surprising is that it's reported most of India's beef export to Vietnam in the end has been reshipped (smuggled) to China somehow, accounting for roughly 1/3 of China's beef import quantity!:eek1: This is very much against "Hindu stereotyping" I used to have.

Amid ban on slaughtering, India top in global beef export

http://www.beefcentral.com/trade/export/where-does-indias-buffalo-meat-exports-go/

Vietnam is the top destination with Indian beef worth of USD 1.8bln in fiscal 2013-2014 among the total of USD 4.35bln.

What barriers have prevented India from exporting to China directly instead of via VN?

Your fight shy of reality is precarious, may it comes from your experience with Indians who are always watchful of Chinese deeds.

Every country gives visitors a due hospitality and the due hospitality can be of different form.

Only 2 Indian states have imposed ban on cow slaughtering. Please verify your information source. FYI, India is not a Hindu Country rather a country where Hindus are in Majority.

Moreover, Indians are in no illusion about bilateral relations with China and everyone is aware that Modi's top agenda is to boost Indian Economy (Make in India) and he is successful enough in this regard so far.

We are also aware of the fact that China will keep playing Cheap games like Map Modification, Trespassing, CCP dumping etc. China must understand that India is in a better position to tackle these. Modi will not offer any concession to China.

Meaning she is a member of Chinese Young Pioneers, every member of Chinese Young Pioneers wears red scarf and salutes the way she did it. And every Chinese primary student automatically becomes a member of Chinese Young Pioneers when she/he reaches the age of 6.

In India also, we have a concept of Young Pioneers. But we call them Kid/Pupil/Student/Professional/Businessmen/Entrepreneur and so on(in different stages). A kid is always special in Indian culture and they always get their due affection from everyone. Just like Modi pampering her.
Moreover, our Kids were taught to Salute the Indian National Flag not Foreign Dignitaries.
