Not only that we are always trying to downplay events when we are clearly getting sorrounded by Chinese in the last 20 years.

I say join US alliance and do more.
We don’t have any choice but to join US as of now. Anyone who understands geopolitics and military equations will understand that as of now, despite what government says, we are not prepared for a 2 front war. We have a dwindling squadron strength and most of our army equipment is outdated trash from the Soviet era. The only area where we can hope to give the Chinese a bloody nose is via our Navy. A logical analysis of the situation requires India to build a formidable alliance with countries who are already in the Anti-China camp due to covid.

For someone who just entered the thread now .

What happened has got quite clear now.

1) Indian patrolling party ( 16 Bihar Regiment) commanded by Col. Santosh Babu intercepts PLA patrolling party at PP(patrol point)14.

2) Indian Colonel personally suggests the opposing party to correct their patrol course due east since they have crossed LAC. (Formal message passing in written may have taken place).

3) PLA patrolling party agrees and starts to return.

4) A small contingent of the PLA patrolling party from the rear of returning stance jumps back at the Colonel and 2 attached soldiers and rough them up, eventually leading to their deaths.

5) Indian patrolling party, seeing their CO manhandled return the favour and a long stone pelting, hand to hand combat ensues, resulting in 5 PLA personnel loss.

An unknown number of soldiers on both sides have sustained various degrees of injuries, and some may have been captured on both sides.

Source based on Eastern Ladakh front: Top level sources have told me 32 missing army personnel have returned to their base . While 4 are still missing. Not so good report on casualties. But awaiting formal communication.
Missing means KIA. Don’t let it turn into Abhinandan Redux. These concerned tweets about missing or captured are the most damaging one.

This is Guerrilla warfare used by China here,on one hand they talk about de-escalation on the other there is an ambushed attack on patrolling teams ,they have planned to slowly demoralize our armed forces by cheap tactics,ie they killed our CO ,i repeat we should be ultra cautious and teach them a very hard lesson, ditch the no bullets fired shit

Guys... Understand the amount of provocation that exists there on the ground..
A normal human can break down at any time...
Still there has been no firing so far ....

Can one imagine the amount of discipline and restraint that our boys are observing even under such a troubling time.. seeing his Commanding Officer dead. any soldier could have lost his mind and control... still that has not happened..
Suddenly a contrast statement from your side
Frankly I was expecting that you would be on front line to motivate us to get our GOI to not to loose this opportunity and prepare to teach a lesson that dragon will never forget

Many Guys are Here Accusing @Hellfire
For Being To Neutral
And Subjective

He already pointed out That chines Comes out prepared and for war

The problem is that most fail to understand that rhetoric is not meant to be believed. Pakistani 'rouhani taqat' and Indian 'Chinese Product' are issues that leads one to underestimate and results in rude awakening.

Not that am not confident of taking them on. But I sincerely abhor the process of taking your enemy too lightly and overestimating your own capability in return.

Unlike 1962, we have thousands of troops along the border. They cant use the same tactics anymore, as this is the response
Exactly! In 62 we had 18,000 troops against 80,000 Chinese! And our troops were not acclimatised too, coming straight from places like Rajasthan without warm clothing and canvas shoes at 14,000 feet and bolt action .303 rifles! And Ad hoc planning by an ASC General who knew squat about warfare, and the biggest blunder of not using the air force!!

Again unprovoked aggression from China's side now it's time for us to teach them a good lesson.

India and China Add to Nuclear Arsenals in 2020, Report Says

India says at least three of its soldiers have died in a “violent” clash with Chinese troops at a section along their unmarked border high in the Himalayas, in the first fatalities resulting from skirmishes in the region in four decades.

There were “casualties on both sides,” Indian army spokesman Col. Aman Anand said in New Delhi Tuesday, adding that officials were meeting to defuse the situation. The dead on the Indian side include an officer and two soldiers, Anand said, adding that no firing took place during the encounter. He gave no other details.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said Tuesday he didn’t have information on the violent face-off that led to the killing of the three Indian soldiers. But he said two Indian soldiers had illegally crossed into Chinese territory twice on June 15 in a “serious violation” of the consensus reached earlier between the two countries.

Border clashes between India and China are adding to regional tensions

“They provoked and attacked the Chinese side, leading to a severe physical brawl. China has lodged protests and representations to the Indian side,” Zhao said. “China demands the Indian side restrict front line soldiers and avoid unilateral moves that will complicate the border situation.”

Why Chinese and Indian Troops Are Scuffling, Again: QuickTake

The sudden escalation in geopolitical risk dented investor sentiment. The S&P BSE Sensex of stocks gave up gains of as much as 2.4% to trade 1.2% higher at 3:15 p.m in Mumbai. The yield on the most traded 6.45% 2029 bond rose by five basis point to 6.03%, while the rupee depreciated 0.2% to 76.2125 per dollar. Local gold futures rose about 1% after the report of the clash, even as global prices of the bullion were little changed.
Ongoing Stand-Off

For more than six weeks now soldiers from both sides have been engaged in a stand-off at least two locations along the Line of Actual Control -- the 3,488 kilometer (2,167 mile) unmarked boundary between India and China, and have rushed additional troops to the border.

They have been facing each other at the Galwan River, which was one of the early triggers of the 1962 India-China war, and at the disputed Pangong Tso -- a glacial lake at 14,000 feet in the Tibetan plateau, portions of which are claimed by both.

India’s China Standoff Shows Risks of Getting Too Close to Trump

The latest escalation comes even as talks between officials of the two armies and at the diplomatic level have been ongoing to ease the soaring tensions.

“The situation is quite grave and dangerous now,” said Sun Shihai, director of the China Center for South Asian Studies in Sichuan University. “In the past such conflicts had led to severe injuries from both sides, but deaths could be a potential game changer, as such incidents will spark nationalistic emotions from both countries.”

Without intervention from higher level officials, front line troops could get out of control and further escalate the situation, Sun said.

Although both India and China have touted this as one of the most stable borders, it’s clear the rancor at local level is high, said Harsh Pant, who teaches international relations at Kings College in London. “For China its easy to control information. But India being a democracy, tensions will run high and there will be questions from people and the opposition. So some kind of escalation will happen.”

It’s not clear yet what New Delhi is likely to do and what Beijing’s response will be, he added.

“Whether the Indian side cancel the scheduled Russia-India-China meeting on June 22, will need to be seen,” Pant said. “China has traditionally tried to save face if there were such summits planned during the time of border tensions. It will need to be seen if China will want to save face again.”
