You know what, we will actually do a good job, not even joking.

The good thing is the focus is on hiring retired Major General rank officers and a research team comprising of them. You cannot let NCERT-propaganda fed Hindu-newspaper reading IAS officers high on peace dictate countries offensive policy.

Hire someone like Maj. Gen. GD Bakshi or Lt. Gen. KJS Dhillion.
Gen Dhillon will be a good choice. Our Gen Bakshi is a bit too emotional these days and might "misfire" when annoyed by the leeches

So can we say , "the hell with the bloody courts " ?
This is OT but, the top courts have slowly usurped power from the elected legislature and executive, they are running a darbar where which is open to only a small clique to implement their agenda, instead of their duties as defined in the constitution. But IMO this can be rolled back, but this will be a political fight, fought on the streets and for public opinion. And you will need political will and fighters who are more like Momota 😠 rather than nut less wonders like Ravi Shankar Prasad.

I think Gen Rawat made a mistake in making the statement that Chinese are building on their side of LAC.
When MEA is building pressure that China should stop constructing and changing status quo, Gen Rawat's statement in a way justifies Chinese action. Even if it is in the Chinese side of LAC, it is being done on a territory under illegal occupation by Chinese.
What Gen Rawat should have said that yes Chinese should stop such construction and Indian armed forces is prepared to evict Chinese.

If anything that has remained constant during this military buildup during Xi's era, it has been the absolute zero fuc*s they give to MEA's concern raised time and again. They have been constructing the infra along LAC for quite some time now, way before the Galwan incident, and MEA has been "raising this issue" with the Chinese. So, MEA's pressure has no soft or hard outcome- it's just a diplomatic exercise that has yielded nothing in this case. Chinese don't care for either the MEA's or the CDS's statement, they will continue to build and try to confront us militarily when we try to do so on our side. Why? Because, wolf warriors.

It is wrong to say that diplomacy has no relevance here. Of course, any diplomacy works on the basis of nations strength, objectives and circumstances. And military power is at the core of nation's power. But diplomacy is nation's expression.
Diplomacy is made to fire words, military is made to fire bullets. Both require different skills, and they devote their life in that. It is a disaster if they try to take the other's role.

I am not saying that diplomacy is meaningless, I am saying that diplomatic handling of the concerns regarding infra on the Chinese side is meaningless. It has not yielded any result till now, and given the Chinese expansionist psyche, there seems to be no reason why it would.

Why would you expect that only diplomatic firing of words would make Chinese go back. But it is the job of diplomacy to define the nation's stand on external issues. And defining nation's stand on this grave issue is not meaningless.

We have defined the nation's stance and the problem on the issue an ample number of times in the past, it has not changed anything. CDS's acceptance of this reality and a public acknowledgement of the need to counter it thru a similar tactic neither changes that nor damages any diplomatic stand whatsoever, imo.

Nepals security authorities caught a spy from the MSS. Reading this article feels like the country is highly compromised.

G216
China has recently started the construction of the National Highway 216 (known as G216), linking northern Xinjiang to Kyirong County in Tibet (the border town with Nepal)

View attachment 119021
Also G580, the road connecting Hotan to G219 is supposed to get completed next year, it has a tunnel at >5000m (IIRC) altitude which is bonkers.

Ya'll Nibbiars Accepting that the Chinese population has settled in disputed villages based on perceptions openly is de facto a recognition of the fact that the territory is theirs . It is one of the four criterion set to recognise the legality of a state as per 1933 Montevideo convention.

Ya'll Nibbiars and It's High time New Delhi get their act together and get the MEA and MOD on the same . Or else it gives an impression that the left hand does not know what the right is upto and vice versa.
