I don't believe either our media or chinese media . A realistic estimate of casulaties from what various sources have told me is between 12-18 PLA casualties .
Is there a single picture to corroborate this?

Exactly ! 30 years of peace and cooperation initiated by Deng Xiaoping ! It was an excellent plan and we can see how well it worked for china . Looking at the current level of economic development in india we must actively pursue peace with our neighbours for the next 15 years and then unleash our power
30 years, when they don't even have political opponents as they are a single party regime.
in our case, every non-governmental institution plays the role of an opposition, including the ones that were supposed to be neutral.

There are personal accounts of bihar regiment troops. Anyway @Hellfire himself confirmed it and he is the most credible guy.
Gen YK joshi also said that india hasn't lost any claimed territory , but we know that isn't true .
Which accounts are you talking about ? Can you present them here , flow of information to citizens is highly controlled by army

Losing territory is not a surprise if you can't control it in the first place . That's why we must exercise our control on whatever disputed territory is left .

clearly the army know this . but its not realistic .

take the case of depsang , each time we tried to build more / patrol more - chinese escalated by doing more patrols / banner drills / constructing roads . they even build a road across their offical claim line border - on indian land they dont even claim .

when we tried to push through by making that feeder road in galwan , we ended up losing that + most of depsang bulge .

its a lose-lose situation . fucking with the Chinese has its limit and can back-fire .

this situation will go on , we will be also "losing" more land in future to chinese salami slicing .
If we tow this mentality, then we might as well jump into China's lap, gift them Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh, accept BRI, and as a bonus offer our posteriors to our superpower master China.

Depsang patrol-area was lost because we don't have a single infrastructure, not a single soldier stationed in that vast area of land. We patrol once a month and call it ours, whereas China has roads and military bases.

It is akin to China saying they lost Pangong Tso F1-F4 to India because we blocked their patrol. Nah man, they already lost that piece of land when we built Maj. Dhan Singh Thapa post at F3.

And for Galwan, they were pushed back, and our bridge and connectivity remain.

We have to face some pain, clash with the Chinese and snatch whatever we can, and hold whatever we already have.

No territory is captured until there are boots on the ground.

The most realistic estimate will be CIA/USA report of 45 casualties. We counted people surely dead (like head bashed open or meditating underwater for last few hours), and critically injured. YK Joshi puts the combined number around 50-60.

But he said the truth !

CIA never reported 45 casualties , there were reports in the media claiming that CIA reports have mentioned 35 casualties but not a single source from US government/CIA has confirmed it
As for general joshi , i highly doubt his claims . Media says 40 , he says 45 , some government officals say 50 . No one actually knows the real number ! I'll rather trust my sources than these high profile people who say things with a clear agenda

As of today , PLA is sitting on or almost close to the 59 Claim Line in most areas. And you're saying that he said the truth !
Yeah, they are. After 1962 defeat, China did not move back from most of the areas in Ladakh, and few areas (Upper Subanshiri valley) in Arunachal Pradesh. That corresponds to their 1959 claim line. In the last 60 years after our defeat, we have done absolutely nothing to either reclaim or solidify our claims in these areas.

As for what Sir YKJ said, he said we did not lose any territory in this (2020) conflict. And it is largely correct, by largely, I mean, the line is blurry.

We can say the lost-patrolling access to Depsang is a lost territory. I don't consider it was under our control, but under China's, we only lay claim on it with weak occasional patrolling, same as how we have control till F4 in Pangong Tso, but occasionally patrolled till F8 & Sirijap.

We can say that the buffer zone agreed at PP17A in Gogra-Hotspring is loose of territory. The buffer zone is surely more towards our side, pushing us at a disadvantage, but then again, we can quickly rush in and take control of the territory if China tries some mischief. So, not technically under Chinese boots (yet).

Alright, everybody is allowed to have their own numbers based on my contacts and knowledge, I have mine, so I told you.

have to really disagree with this idea .

F4 was also a buffer zone , once upon a time , claimed by both sides , patrolled by both sides.

we "lost" it after they build that road .

depsang was also same , before 2009 there was no road , no outposts , even after 2009 there were no permanent chinese presence there .

why didnt we push forward and occupy atleast 1km beyond y junction ?

we can drive trucks there , we can build outpost there ? why didnt we ?

No territory is captured until there are boots on the ground.

easy to say this .

but large sections of LAC is under a "time share" model . like this rock in a ridge along the LAC in AP

both sides patrol it in 1 month apart - paint "India" / "China" on it . local commanders most probably agree on a patrol date so there is no clash .

its a shitty situation but this is what the reality is now .

we need to slowly build up our road network . then build feeder roads to LAC

IMHO atleast in AP we are still decade away from it.

if we try to push forward , we may end up losing more , which is why the gov is acting the way it does .

🤷‍♂️ atleast that is my theory

All I believe is that they suffered 5 casualties as there is proof of it
Everything else is just claim and no proof for it be it our generals, Cia, sputnik, media, etc.
We suffered 20 whereas they suffered 5 and also gain few pieces of land so technically for a lay man they have won the conflict with their objectives somewhat acheived

Don't believe the chinese narrative . They haven't achieved their objective of coercing india into submission to abandon our indo pacific strategy .

Looks like he wants to convey India can decide next Dalai Lama.

Expressing full faith in the Indian government, Penpa Tsering, the head of the Central Tibetan Administration, has said India will take the right position at the right time on the question of the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama. His comments come even as India has remained silent on the question, while the United States, through an act in the Congress, has declared it would impose punitive measures if China interferes in the question of succession.

:dude: i pray to all gods that we grow 2 balls and a spine and say "fuck u" to the Chinese .

it does looks like we are on track to choosing the next lama

various senior officials in India, including in the Prime Minister's office, have been discussing how the country can influence the choice of the next Dalai Lama.

India convened five separate assemblies of senior monks from various sects and schools along its Himalayan border with China. Such a gathering was organised for the first time in more than 2,000 years.

India hopes that the group of senior monks will grant international legitimacy to the Dalai Lama's successor and lead the Tibetans in the interim period, as it could take over two decades for a reincarnation to come of age.

they will most likely fuck us back , maybe try another galwan , or give Pakistan arms package - couple of jets-tanks-warships , 😤 - let them
