But i think we have done enough for Russia and have already payed back their favor of 1971. Anymore romance with Russia will cost India in the longer run than small time benefits of cheap oil. Apart from that our dependency on Russia is decreasing day-by-day. We should welcome Lavrov with some Chai-buiscuit and then leave him at the airport. Russia has now become as unreliable as USA.
This is related to trade. Western companies are scaling down, we can fill that space, where ever possible, make money.

Hate to say it, but they are right. Russia is nearly finished as a strong country now.

yea maybe but still those su 30mki aint gonna upgrade itself :nono:
If push comes to shove we can convince the Russians to do it ourselves given that they don't have the capacity to do anything.

Unfortunately, neither can Russia do it now, they don't have any resources for it or raw material to make components or radars anymore. If you still want them upgraded, be ready to see Chinese parts in them.

We will have to do it ourselves.

Read somewhere China producing 80 fighter jets per year . If its true we ll be in a difficult situation after half a decade from now . Airforce require number .. They should have gone for higher number of tejas mk1a whose operating cost is peanuts and has all the modern equipment with EW , AESA , BVR missiles .. Suits our budget . The production per year is also low . May be with a higher number of orders it ll gain speed with more assembly lines .

36 rafale vs 200 tejas mk1a .. we know the winner .

To be honest, I don’t know why India likes BrahMos so much. BrahMos is already behind the times. He is a MIG21 that can fly at supersonic speed. He has no synthetic aperture radar, no terrain matching ability, and has a huge RCS value.
Nose air intake also limits the installation of high-performance radar
Even then your HQ-9 wasnt able to shoot it down.
