Absurd and weird ass claims by China based on Qing dynasty is a joke. Then we are also declare based on the exploits of Rajendra chola we will consider Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia as part of India and then we will claim Chola ruled Spartly and Paracel island.

Maybe there are backchannel talks happening between India and US, where India has told them that we may launch an attack at LAC if the talks with China fails, and that we need Russian weapons (S400, AK203, etc.) that are going to be delivered in next few months/years to fight against China.

There is already a stalemate vis a vis at LAC.

Nothing India or China can do much.

The recent visit of Wang Yi and our reaction to it is telling a completely different story. The higher ups were optimistic about the talks in the beginning after Operation Snow Leopard, which was visible with India's support to China on the Olympic issue in the previous year's BRICS meeting. but slowly they are realising that Chinese are not willing to back off from all fiction points and want us to accept it, but now the higher ups are losing thier cool and may conduct another Op soon to regain those areas and push the Chinese back.

IMHO its too late for that . last year , i was pretty sure we would grab some ridge or peak and use that to neogitate - like we did in pangong tso , but that didnt happen .

only thing happening now is tea-biscuit

besides we are planning to build shit load of tunnels and roads in AP , ladakh . makes sense to wait until those are finished anyway , and that will take time.

But i think we have done enough for Russia and have already payed back their favor of 1971. Anymore romance with Russia will cost India in the longer run than small time benefits of cheap oil. Apart from that our dependency on Russia is decreasing day-by-day. We should welcome Lavrov with some Chai-buiscuit and then leave him at the airport. Russia has now become as unreliable as USA.

Stalemate might have been when India has captured some Chinese land near LAC or AP to compensate for our losses. but we have captured the peaks that were on our side of LAC and they are not willing to back off - which means aggression. India must respond now or it will only boost their morale for conducting more such misadaventure in future.
