The PLAGF has modelled itself on the americans,and become too mechanized.Everything is mechanized or motorized.This makes them devastating on flat plains terrain ,but severely disadvantaged in mountain terrain against India's specialized mountain infantry divisions.This is not hyperbole but fact.PLA is just lacking actual proper foot infantry.The mechanized assault infantry tactics accompanying tank columns is useless in mountains.First the terrain doesnt allow movement and 2nd your logistics won't sustain deep operations.
So people getting impressed by the mechanized PLA brigades chill,its not a strength- in the himalays its actually a weakness.If PLA divisions are someday deployed on pakistan opposite punjab/rajasthan then you have a cause for possible panic.In the himalays they try anything against an entrenched IA,they will get a bruising.They know it.Otherwise they would have attacked a nibbled off territory after doklam and galwan.
Also right now they can't prevent IN from cutting off their oil supplies in IOR,so they can't fight a long war.That may change post 2030s.
