We are all in this together.

pray this happens , only way we will ever get back POK or grow as a country.

Those who are saying that China will defeat India are uttering BS. A prepared enemy is the most difficult to defeat. How did China win Tibet or defeat India in 1962 or capture land in 2020? Surprise. In all these, there was the element of surprise. Why don't they try to capture more land now? Why not take Arunachal now? Are we worse than Vietnam? If Vietnam can repel the Chinese, so can we.
Indian Armed Forces have the capability to drag down China with them and destroy their dream of surpassing America. And of course, America won't sit and allow its hegemony to be taken away by an Asian country ruled by communists.
there are places in AP near LAC where we dont have any roads or infrastructure.

only small forward posts there maintained by helicopter.

Chinese occasionally cross over and put tents and live here for few days then mark "CHINA" with red paint on rocks , trees.

There wont be any war , instead Chinese will send 1000 soldiers+civilians here and squat on our land.

Everyone from media and this forum will go into meltdown , good chance that instead of taking action , we will again go for talks , we will then be humiliated again .

Actually, if IA is cool headed, we wont poke chinese any more. Politicians wont undertake symbolic moves against china (like bycotting beijing olympics). Sad IK.

If we want POK, best keep troop levels on LAC low. If LAC becomes LOC, chinese will be incentivised to join in. If it goes back to normal, they will have to ferry over men and material before doing anything- not in the 10-14 days our military plans for a war with pak.

If LAC becomes loc.. and 200000 chinese troops are locked in at India border, it is a long term loss for China as well..
We need to remember that China's main struggle to dominate the Asia Pacific is with the US-Japan alliance, and to break the stranglehold of the first island chain. If the tense situation on the LAC, continues well into the future, it will complicate China's plans for Taiwan..

i agree but we are past that point , Chinese are now building new airfields , expanding existing airbases , more heliports , several new bases to station troops and armour , new rail line (i think ), 1 more critical road highway. not to mention more 'civilian' poverty alleviation villages right at edge of LAC .

they wont tear down large bases just because of talks.

its insane seeing once empty land across depang being filled with military barracks and posts now.

if we now decide on war with PAK , it will become 2-front war the next day.

Connectivity is poor? How so exactly? It has two National Highways, double-lane broad-gauge electrified railway connectivity?

China making a high-speed railway is great, but India is not there yet with high-speed trains yet. But having high-speed trains doesn't compromise our capability.

Even if you don't consider connectivity, North-East is self-sufficient on its own and is in no way dependent on Western India for supplies.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Listen, Chicken's neck is protected by 2 Corps-strength of troops even in peacetime. The whole J&K (excluding Ladakh) is under 2 Corps-strength of troops while being having 4x the area, which means 4x times more troops concentration in Chicken's neck.

Chicken's neck is fortified like hell. But say, how exactly will China threaten it? They cannot roll tanks there and occupy it, they cannot airdrop troops there (it will be a one-sided slaughter). What they can do is, use some stand-off capability like missiles to attack it.
Chicken's neck is fortified by layered air defense and lets say the missiles do strike and do some damage, it will be too superficial and will be repaired in no time. Even with 1-2 weeks of no connectivity (let's say some major bridge is damaged), nothing will happen because NE is self-sufficient and not dependent on west for supplies.
those national highways and broad guage railway lines are no match to chinese expressways and high or semi high speed railways in tibbet

They have achieved their objective trespassing 4 places gaining 2 places
Why would they attack
Now my question is what should we do bcoz they got what they wanted

2031......2051........
China will wait and won't do any mischief till then
We have this capability now but we are not building even knowing it's strategic
chinese wont stop in tibbet now they are planning to extend their railways in nepal if they succeed it will further erode whatever geographic advantage india has vis a vis china in that area

Now now, when did National highways and railways start fighting with Chinese expressways and high-speed railways that they are no match?

Deflecting the argument, are we ?

You said Chicken's neck is vulnerable and unprotected. I proved to you this is not the case.

Yes, case by case, China does have expressways and high-speed railways, but I can argue this -
  • We have a better airlift capacity than them.
  • We have shorter and more mature supply lines than them.
  • We have more airbases to support our operations.
  • Our population centers are denser and not "artificially settled" to show occupation.

  • Tibet has a harsher climate (extreme arid-cold desert) and high altitude environment which will drain their human resources as well as strain their supply lines. To maintain and feed the same number of troops they will have to create better infrastructure and rotate them quicker.

  • Indian Army recruits from these high-altitude environments (Ladakh Scouts, Arunachal Scouts, Gorkha Rifles, Kumaon Regt, Gharwal Regt, Sikkim Scouts) which gives us soldiers who are suited to fight in this rarefied atmosphere. Chinese soldiers, on other hand, are mainly from mainland China. Representation of Tibetian soldiers is minute.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You cannot argue piece-by-piece, equipment-by-equipment. There are ought to be a few places where either side will be at disadvantage. Warfare is not fought like that, but with strategies on how to leverage your strengths and cover up your weaknesses.
