The nation is benefiting because the traders are moving to a better place forcing Maharashtra to improve its economic infrastructure. It is all about competition and striving to be better. You don't want things to be static. You want things to be continually improved. You want innovation and progress. Well that is how this is done. There are winners and losers. And the losers need to learn how to be better to win.

Truth be told there's much more to this than simple economics as you seem to think. There's a lot of wheeling dealing, behind the scene activities plus the inordinate clout of the center working to benefit one state at the cost of the other at work here. Incidentally Maharashtra is responding with it's own mega diamond park in Navi Mumbai which will further fragment the diamond market.

Truth be told there's much more to this than simple economics as you seem to think. Gujurat is the only "stable" state where everything is under the control of Bhajipao aside from the odd caste based reservation agitation.

MH is politically a clusterfuck and will probably be in the future since the voters regionals vote for certain parties, like the Baron of Baramati, kuch bhi ho, so it's hard for one party to get a clear majority, you have seen the result of (((coalitions)))

Since it's politically a clusterfuck, you can't implement any project here, like see that Ratnagiri refinery for example, blocked by villagers in thrall with penguin party.

This is aside from that fact that apart from Amruta's husband, everyone else is #1 ghoos khor here, Power saheb is ofc the king of this but folks from the other parties aren't far behind, they only see how much $$$ they can suck from Mumbai and not for proper development of the state.

Then there is the anti Gujju sentiment being fanned to give the voter some "clarity" on who to vote with the current mess of 2x senas, 2x NCPs, late boss' son vs employee, chacha vs bhateeja chutiyapa confusing the voters.

MH State has been failed by the political class, center will ofc want the more important projects to go to "stable" states, not talking about the diamond traders leaving specifically, idk much about diamond trade, talking in context of other projects like the now dead Vedanta fab, the one IAF troop transport jet factory etc.
