Why do we care about Pakistanis? Man we launch capability, we have launched missions to moon and Mars and will be going to send more missions to other planets also.

Give ISRO another 50 million dollars and get them to build a modified lander / rover only and have them sent it by 1 years time . No need of orbiter since the current one is functional and will support the same.

The built time will be considerably reduced due to obvious reasons , like using the same resources that was created for Vikram lander.

A PSLV should be able to launch it. Reassign one of the upcoming PSLV for the same.

Failures are ok but this was a national mission and isro should be the one to have the last laugh

The first level of Indian astronaut selection for India’s proposed human mission—Ganaganyaan—has been completed in Bengaluru. India hopes to send humans to space and bring them back in 2022.

Let's give ISRO a moment, they will make report of what happened and what not happened and then we will come to know what actually happened, that should be the final verdict of failure or success.
Do feel bad though for scientists especially, I say next moon mission should be more grand.
Like mocking even moon(if moon was a person though).

For a second there DSN Madrid was receiving data from the lander

Now it has disappeared. Madrid has lost LOS and Goldstone is tracking the orbiter.

So as i previously alluded lander must have landed , but there was comms failure due to possible malfunction of some comms equipment . Higher that expected G forces might have induced anomalous behaviour in the comms component like displaced linkages or unintended transient voltage transfer shorting out the circuit's. If grounding is established maybe there is a chance to drain off surge voltage if any, unfortunately I have no understanding of the working of the same in space systems. So not 100% sure.but Similar power failures happened with isro satellites power bus.

Anyways sometimes systems can recover if lucky enough. Keeping fingers crossed.
