“In a major mission, the Indian naval warship INS Sumitra rescued a hijacked fishing vessel Al Naemi with armed pirates around 800 miles off the coast of Kochi. The Marine Commandos of the Indian Navy took part in the operation to rescue the crew of the boat safely. This was the second successful anti-piracy operation by the Indian Navy in the last 24 hours. Indian navy warships are deployed all around the Indian Ocean region to provide safety and security in the area: Indian Defence officials”.

How much of HOB should we go for ? And what about our current lot of ITL and L3 Monoculars that we use for passive aiming ? A huge chunk of SOPs will then be needed to be improved and implemented force-wide (instead of the regular regimental std. of one monocular on the helmet and one monocular behind the optic).
Night vision is for traversing terrain and general visibility, using it weapon mounted is a tactical mistake born from a lack of options and we should not be building our foundations around it, with the sole exception being magnified systems. Passive aiming is situational for starters, relying heavily on ambient lighting conditions and the light transmission quality of your optic besides being notably slower, which is why it should not be your primary method of shooting. Instead you should be prioritising active aiming and training laser and light discipline accordingly. The riser doesn't need to be all that high for an eotech and height over bore is not a concern if you train for it, which you should be. NODs belong on your helmet for easy and unified access, putting them on your weapon defeats the purpose unless you plan to go on patrols with your weapon up the entire time.

I am not qualified enough to even talk about sg but we seriously need to figure out NSG situation you bring guys you spend time and money on those soilders and you don't get to keep them too.
The NSG needs to stop being it's own thing and should be placed under the IB like the HRT is in the US, and it should have dedicated shooters.
