Guess villagers are much better source in finding anything. What the locals can find by simply observing, the high Technology gadgets and survey equipment can't find!

should we go for f16 [ f21 ] if yes why , if no why not support your statement with logic
No, not only for f16 or f21, but for any cutting edge, front line tech specially offensive.

Reasons
> USA will at some juncture try to backstab us or arm twist us regarding weapon system usage. This will inturn result in friction between relations. Best is to avoid both sanctions and degradation of relations.

> USA is an open democracy prone to left liberals and infiltration of jihadis in govt / Congress. They can raise hue and cry about irresponsible use of weapons by India. This may not cause direct impact on USA foreign policy but can attract undue attention in their MSM and Twitter. Already I saw some accounts pleading to USA govt and UN about how India is using their m777 against innocent Kashmiris on other side of LoC. God forbid if abhinandan got lynched, Indian army and airforce would have evaporated all Abduls in that village using massive ordinances. That village would have been disappeared from the map. Only Russian, Israeli and domestic weapons comes with that liberty.

Indian Air Force signs deal worth around Rs 300 crore for buying more than 100 SPICE bombs from Israel. SPICE bombs were used by the Air Force to attack madrasah of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot of Pakistan on February 26.

i support your statement i think USA is not a very reliable country and most of all it will come with lots off string attached . we can see now also how USA is trying to blackmail us into not buying s 400s and any ways it will not part away with any critical technology

It's equllent to us Navy topgun not USAF aggressors squ
TACDE has its own aggressor squadron of highly experienced pilots who are experienced in enemy tactics.
Anyway, TOPGUN and Aggressors is the same thing. Only different services of the military.

This news will burn everyone from paki armchair anal-yst to Tu-fail because no sane country, specially Indian Baniya, will shop for 100 more spice kits if balakot was a failure.:pound:

Capital is a big approver of capability and credibility!!!

Isn't it a bit surprising that we haven't been able to locate the An-32 4 days after the crash in our own territory. And this inability to quickly locate our crashed plane has been there for quite some time now, because there have been multiple such instances.

This also means that we have inadequate radar coverage. Instances of planes disappearing off radar screens have been too many.

Have a first hand experience of the NE geography and climate. Right now neither the weather nor the geography is helping the purpose.

Wouldn't it help to place cheap Bharani/Ashlesha radars along few of the transport corridors. Because if we can't track our own plane, the PLAAF might as well have a good day while intruding such radar blindspots.

What good do you want to achieve by placing Bharani or Ashlesha there?

Fact would remain that no one could cover the whole Himalayan range. There would always be one or another RADAR blind spot, both for India as well as China.

You have huge mountains + dense forests in North East . It's pretty easy for an an32 size plane to disappear.

Remember world war II planes remain are still found after all these years .

US may offer F-35 fighter if India scraps S-400 deal
ET has learnt that senior industry leaders as well as officials from the US are visiting India, even as the deadline for action against Turkey is closing in.

    AFP
F-35s could be pitched as the only air platform that beats S-400 air defence systems.

NEW DELHI: The US could offer the fifth-generation F-35 fighter jet for both the air force and navy, if the $5.43-billion deal with Russia for the S-400 air defence system is dropped.

The US has been increasing pressure on Indiaover the S-400 deal that was signed in October last year, with senior Washington officials saying it would have a direct impact on any high technology cooperation in the future.

India is keeping a close watch on what happens with Turkey, a NATO ally, that has already signed up for the S-400 and has been threatened by the US with sanctions and the cancellation of its contract for F-35s.
Et has learnt that senior industry leaders as well as officials from the US are visiting India, even as the deadline for action against Turkey is closing in. The defence ministry, meanwhile, is expected to shortly move ahead on the acquisition of 110 fighter jets for the air force under a strategic partnership programme. The navy is also preparing technical requirements for its upcoming purchase of 57 combat aircraft.

While no official request has been received from India and the F-35 has not been formally put on offer by the US, the aircraft could be pitched as the only air platform that will be equipped and upgraded to beat the S-400 air defence systems that have also been acquired by China.

Like Turkey, India has stood strong on its purchase of the S-400 but it is learnt that only partial payments have been made by New Delhi, given banking sanctions that are already in place for dealing with Russian defence entities. More stringent CAATSA (Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act) sanctions have also been threatened against nations purchasing the S-400 from Russia.

While there had been an impression that the US could give India CAATSA waivers for the S-400, recent statements by Washington suggest that this would not be the case.
The US stand has been that it will not allow its modern combat aircraft to be operated in an environment where the S-400 is also operational, as it would be able to map these aircraft, enabling software upgrades and modifications to improve performance.

In an effort to wean India away from the S-400, the US has already offered its NASAMS II (National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System) for protection of the national capital region against ballistic missiles. In addition, the US has also been in talks for its advanced Terminal High Altitude Area Defense(THAAD) and Patriot Advance Capability (PAC-3) defence systems with India, though these would come at a significantly steeper cost than the S-400 system.
