Embraer was not selling entire company or it's military division .....they were selling just their business Jets division .
Due to Corona buying that division is not a good idea ..
So Indian government ignored that offer

Transporters are easy to build compared to fighter jets. They don't need maneuverability much neither much speed.

20 ton payload is medium transporter we can easily build them now. All it needs money in development funding.

Even china has build a heavy transport despite no previous experience of that class.

We could agree to Russisn engien if full tot for the plane was given.
I think we should try to arm twist the Russian for this later on we could have added our own engine and avionics.
Like how Brahmos project matured.
We started out by manufacturing just the chasis of the missile and now 10 years later the whole Seeker and Engine.

If war is certain, what's stopping China from making a move? The delay is only letting India build up and be fully prepared for 2-front war.

Is China themselves not confident on their numbers in LAC? Or they fear if it's a long drawn out affair, supplies issue could see them losing ground to India?

They are just following the Szu Tzu rules first seek enemy's weakness they only plan your Next move's

Aircraft manufacturing is a very capital intensive industry... you got to know knowledge of alloys / composite materials and a whole eco-system to support and manufacture them...

Trivia - a Normal rolls royce commercial engine in A 350 reaches a temp of 2500 degree celcius and you need a material which can withstand those high temperature consistently over a period of 16 hours flight at stretch and may be for life time.....
