Yeah Japan and USA will stop chinks from coming to Indian Ocean for us
Better we get our 3rd aircraft carrier battle group soon, INS Vikramaditya is more of a harbour queen than operational warship.
that ship has sailed- our support for Russia has confirmed the west will leave us to get screwed when China rolls.
Meanwhile ''''best friend'''' Russia continues to arm china woith the best kit. if our troops die at the heights, it will be via Russian weapons, mark my words.

Until India seriously develops its own weapons, we will be constantly locked in abusive friendships.

our defense import is like BDSM- pleasure when we get our hands on the latest overpriced equipment (Rafale/ Guardian), and pain when the same countries turn around and sell weapons to our enemies (Agosta/ F16/MI35).
We then try to justify it as 'oh they have strategic autonomy' and 'they will support us at the UN.'
For how much we spend, we do not get our worth.
of course it doesn't help that our gora-sahib complex makes us worship these 'allies' like France, US, Israel etc..

Any news on exactly how the ROKAF turboprop crashed? They are designed to be stable at low speeds, so I am skeptical of that reasoning.
Blue-blue kill by ground based ADS perhaps?

The crash site pictures show that the aircraft wasn't disintegrated in the air, still had everything around it.

My guess is that some sort of technical malfunction took place.

"Let's hope for the best" is definitely a great strategy.
It’s not hope for the best. It’s reality. Look at the map. All we need to do is blockade the strait of malacca and one other strait and the PLAN got no other choice. Look how the Ukrainians have largely stymied the Russian Navy in the Black Sea. USN and JSDMF may not get involved in a shooting match but they will greatly provide surveillance and targeting data to the IN. That itself is gold.

So is Admiral Kuznetsov, but what has Britshit ships got to do with us? What kind of argument is this?
We should not get our 3rd aircraft carrier as 1st one is harbour queen because it is justifiable as some other aircraft carrier thousands of miles away is also a harbour queen with Chink navy breeding like rabbits?
I said “if it makes you feel better” I brought the British example because the RN has a great maritime past and they still got problems even though they have been a blue water navy for over 4 centuries. We have only just surpassed UK in terms of GDP and they are still way more advanced than us in submarines. So it’s a valid comparison.

I have a different take on this, having more ACs means that we are looking for 'Sea Control' rather than 'Sea Denial'. For a non-expeditionary military like India, all ACs will be "harbour queens" only.

I have read in some news article that Pakistan Navy's submarine fleet will be larger than Indian Navy's submarine fleet after 2030 onwards (can't confirm this news). Their aim is to have a 'Sea Denial' in the Arabian Sea.

The need of the hour is India expanding its Submarine Fleet and impose a 'Sea Denial' in both BoB and IO to counter PLA Navy.

Unless China deploys a couple of Naval fleets permanently in the Southern Indian Ocean, the Chinese Navy is a not a mortal threat to India during war time.. Any Chinese naval ship venturing past the Malacca straits will be hit..
That doesn't mean we can relax.. More than Aircraft carriers, India needs Area denial systems like conventional submarines in good numbers..

Can also helped by quick induction of many missile boats and air defence ships .

things like this can increase capacity manifold .
Plant them on cargo ships etc , good for war .
All ships constructed in Britain during both world wars had provisions for placing naval armament if needed .
Even ocean liners .
The result will be this, we need to sink the chiense navy ships in IOR .and choke off straits of malacca to get the below result .

Already they are salty

Plus it's hard to believe we will do a buildup only for showoff. While salami slicing by China gets a lot of chatter in India media... a vice versa can be far more discreet.
We should not neglect naval capabilities, but we cannot match China in the arms race at this point. So have to understand our short term, medium term priorities & make best use of the limited $$$ our armed forces are allocated.

Seems like Chinese forward deployment has mostly retreated opposite Tawang, and there are no further signs of aggressive buildup, and now winter snow is settling in thick layers over Tawang.

The 2022 campaign season is over, look forward to the next season, May-June 2023 !
