It's not about the olive branch, it is about ownership. The Indian Ocean is our backyard, for anything that happens, we should have direct visibility of it. Chinese & Australian ships searching for missing sailors in our backyard doesn't sound good.
And we do. Read up on the IOR fusion center in Gurgaon. We have massive real time Intel of surface ships all over IO. Plus india deployed tsunami warning sensors all IO which are dual purpose military sensors as well.

Harsh terrain, massive elevations, even the diesel in the construction machines freeze. Hard to breathe as well . Human performance deteriorates significantly at such altitudes.
Chinese workers constructing the Qinghai-Tibet railway line were supplied with oxygen to tackle high-altitude sickness. Diesel freezing is only a thing in the harsh winter months of Dec-Feb, not the whole year round.

If China can make it why not us? Excuses are thousand if you don't want to, and none if you are really determined to.

The Qinghai-Tibet railway is not that high of an altitude as Ladakh. If simple oxygen cylinders were the answer, we would have done that long ago. The thing is probably hundreds died in the construction of the Occupied Tibet railway. The CCP can do that as they used PLA as labor and most likely Uighur/Tibetan prisoners. We have the BRO but Even a few deaths in Ladakh would be the end of the project. The bilaspur-manali-Leh rail project should solve some of the forward area logistics but the road tunnels in J&K/Ladakh should be mostly sufficient for forward logistics supply as our operating bases are close to the border. The PLA meanwhile has to bring in supplies from far away. But their supply chain will be extended and subject to bombing by us. Not to mention we can rely on local Tibetans for sabotaging the railway lines.

Sippy chain will be extended? But Chinas air defence is not that easy either. Local Tibetans resisting? There are high amount of hopiums in your post. Just like how Pakis hope - In a war, India will be torn apart from inside.

Construction of a railway link till Bilaspur is being carried out; once that is completed lines would be extended upto Leh and ultimately, Kargil.

I am aware of this, and there is no chance this is going to be completed before 2040 honestly, but a more realistic timeline will be 2050.
Hey mist, you know how far the sela tunnel in arunachal pradesh has come up ? The deadline of the completion keeps on getting pushed back.

Local Tibetans and Uighurs rising up is a 100% certainty not just in India-China wars but even China-Taiwan wars. Behind the scenes sabotage is a 200% certainty. Those who have followed wars knows how this works.
I don’t believe in any of the Chinese military technology or prowess. Nothing is proven. All we hear are a lot of shouting and substandard volumes of military equipment being produced. While volume is its own force multiplier, it is not know if these volumes of ships and subs can truly withstand the proven weapons India has. Indi has actually been to war and soundly defeated its enemy several times, some when the country was dirt poor.
China is surrounded by hi-tech powers like Japan, Korea, Taiwan etc. None of them are going to sit quietly during an India-China war as significant investments of theirs are at stake and the world economy will take a beating. India is after all the 5th largest economy in the world with close to $1 trillion trade volume, only increasing from here on. US companies alone have substantial interest in India. And the US protects its corporate interests like anything. Expect total blocking of trade traffic to China in the pacific by the US/Australia etc.
Chinese will starve and run out of fuel before they can inflict any serious damage on India. An India-China war is WW3.
India fought wars when its poverty levels were worse than sub Saharan Africa. It did not get β€œripped from the inside”. Have some faith and grow a backbone.
