This author is also suspicious of one thing that many in the forum do. That probably those tea drinkers at China Study Group are compromised

Among the proposed tunnels one at 17,800 feet needed on the crucial road that will provide an alternate connectivity to Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) and Depsang Plains in Easten Ladakh in addition to existing road.

The work on the original DBO road was one of the triggers for the current India-China standoff. "A tunnel of about 10 km is needed at Saser La to ensure the 100 km alternate route to DBO can be used through the year.

so like @mist_consecutive said new tunnel will be 10km , crazy . still dont understand how this makes sense.

Its only initial surveys etc. i think an actual tunnel construction is probably still a few years away, this tunnel would be 100% military use, just to provide an alternative route to an area. I don’t think even the Chinese have built anything like that till date. We still don’t have year long connectivity to Ladakh - that's probably much higher on the list to get done first.

Miram Taron, a native of Zido village in the district, was allegedly kidnapped on January 18 from a jungle in Siyungla area, where he had gone hunting along with his friend Jhonny Yaying (27), Upper Siang DC Shaswat Saurabh stated.

Saurabh also said that he has found out from Yaying that it was almost dark when the Chinese soldiers surrounded them in Siyungla area, near Bishing village.

The award ceremony held by the Indian Army Northern Command on the 22nd showed that its newly expanded troops included the 42nd Artillery Division, the 39th Infantry Division, the 6th Division, the 4th Division of the Strategic Reserve Force and the 15th Army. The command will Has 9 Infantry/Mountain Divisions, 1 Artillery Division and 4 National Rifle Commands. #

We have been underestimating smerch

y'all know that smerch has self seeking submunition!!

In the special varient, a typical rocket carries 20 submunition. Once target is reached, the warheads are released and deploy their parachutes. Then they acquire independent target and fall on them.

Guess how they acquire target??

Each of 20 submunition has dual color IR sensor!!!

Maybe that's why smerch costs dearly??

AFAIK initial we only acquired only fragmentation varient.

But as of 2016 near to 30 units have been acquired. So maybe units after 1996 may have been varient with sensor munition.

Can someone confirm this??
