- hypothetical -

If the next govt of India duly elected by popular public mandate decide to fall in a Chinese debt trap willingly, will/can US or EU do anything to prevent it from happening?

I think they will let it happen, there will be tacit support to allow it to happen from their MSM lackies. a few op-eds here and there cribbing about it, but they won’t raise a finger to stop it. Brown sepoys will be digging up excuses for their masters to blame India, but nobody will do anything to stop it.

from murican and European perspective, this ensures one less competitor to deal with for rest of the century.

- hypothetical -

We are already kinda in a Debt Trap, just see the Trade Deficit between the two countries. It is humongous.

IMHO this is one of the factor for which MEA talks in a cucked manner regarding China.

So you are saying that west would be Ok to let go of Indo Pacific region .Because if this goes away then china will be official world power and US will be nothing more than the regional power

They seem to be focussed on sharing the world with CCP, instead of getting into a painful conflict with CCP. whether it is G2 or G3 depends on who you ask.

CCP will be having different plans altogether, but that's a different issue.

This is not debt trap, if so discourse will be entirely different.
No it is not, but Trade Deficit is a Leverage over us. This is what I meant.

For eg, Raw materials for Indian drug makers worth $3.5 billion are being sourced from China on an average annually.

Almost 70% of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) comes from China. Dependence on China for such a crucial component is not prudent for India’s national security, hence there is a need to diversify its sourcing and develop domestic capacity.
