Meanwhile, the Indian army’s 130-150 mostly upgraded licence-built Soviet-era T72M1 and T90S MBT are more suited to operating in the Rajasthan desert region and the Punjab plains. And though they do bring formidable fire power with their 125 mm guns that can fire varied ammunition, neither MBT has missile firing capability.

Besides, navigating their bulk in the Himalayan regions too poses problems, while their engines need to be started for 10-20 minutes every four hours in a 24-hour cycle to ensure their availability when operationally needed. A tank detail is deputed to execute this recurring chore, whose frequency increases during the winter months, when temperatures drop to around – 35°C.
somebody please shed some light on :
don't our T90 tanks have missile firing capability? :O

and engine needs to be started for 10/20 min every 4 hr, is it the problem for our T series tanks or every tank model have to follow that routine there due to weather?

Well what about mounted Mortar or RCL's on a light armoured or heavy armoured vehicle's. Bhadra ji.
Mechanized Infantry has mounted Mortars on BMP and I think they can easly adopt to 120mm Mortars.

Infantry of Indian Army has no priority whatsoever. Their 81mm Mortars are mounted on Sepoy Bhoop Singh... but he is the only one who can carry it and deploy just behind the ridge line of Finger 4 or into Galwan River slopes and bring havoc on the Chinese.. He needs only a few Yaks to carry ammunition..

106mm Rcl are still good guns provided it is given good mobility ... all lie in storage..

We have conveyed clearly nothing short of pre may 5 status quo will do.

Lets see how long chinkies can hold. May be they withdraw in a month or so completely. We should not budge from our position. Or we need to continue this talk shit till we have enough ammunitation for 2 front and hit the chinkies post. The chinkies of 62 are not the same as now.

Some thing's Inserting on the Chinese's Tank's Gun's.

Ah perhaps the L48 is on Type 96 whereas the L50 is on Type 99s. I don't know if China has ever formally acquired 2A46 but I recall reading plenty of online sources suggesting Type 96's main gun is derived from one. Maybe from T80 trials and imports or from Ukrainian suppliers? One of the Ukrainian main guns is also derived from the 2A46. Not to mention the two guns looks identical down to the thermal sleeves and fume extractor details.

Did chinese copied russian Tsnk's Engineering's.

China may have acquired Soviet stuff after the fall, or from the former Soviet republics (as America also did), but the only purpose of those purchases would be to gain intel on soviet equipment and other's to Reverse Engineer's it's. Had once seen something or used something as target practice the top domestic platforms are copies of that something.

You can clearly's Knew's that's "they didn't have today's level", that they were not world leading mean they would have want to copy something from a nation that didn't had a R &D's inte Armoured's Technology's. Let alone tank industry. That made tanks with civilian grade steel and was proven undisputedly one of the worst at war. Because the gun can't that accurately hit targets on the move something which the MODERN Russian 2A46M5 on the T72B3M Succiede's with an the easilye's

come clear to whom?
And say what?
About the current situation there. There is little to no info about what's really going on there. Pangong & Hot spring is widely being covered by media but Depsang is still in the dark. I guess we will see more on that in coming days when dust gets settled.

I hope that this will help to understand the Despsng Plains.

Depsang Plain

The “Depsang Plain” is one of the few places in the Western Sector where light armour (vehicles) would have ease of manoeuvre, so any Chinese buildup there is a cause for concern.

India controls the western portion of the plains as part of Ladakh, whereas the eastern portion is part of the Aksai Chin region, which is controlled by China and claimed by India.

The buildup invokes memories of both the 1962 war, when Chinese troops had occupied all of the Depsang plains.

More recently in April 2013, the PLA crossed the LAC and pitched tents on the Indian side for three weeks, before they agreed to pull out.
