Sadly true, though this one's in 155mm/39 Cal design, similar to older Bofors, plus weight around 4.5 tonnes

M777 we got was in 155mm/52 Cal design, with weight around 4.2 tonnes,

so if they could make a GC-45 derivative in 155mm/52 Cal (already out there) in light weight category around some 5 tonnes max then it would be really great

non-towed GC-45 is already weighted around 8 some tonnes...need some weight shedding to reach that range,

around 5 Tonnes it would provide sufficient lifting margin for a helo like chinook to also carry the gun crew and sufficient ready to fire ammo.

Any Bharat Forge employee reading this, pls pass on the message to your superiors plox  , i believe in you

Kalyani long range ULH ( ultra light howitzer ) is available in 155x39mm calibre in both steel and titanium variants

The titanium variant is easily comparable and imo better than M777 which is also titanium

Cost of all these "Make in India" products should be quoted in two parts - 1. Rupees - Cost of components and services sourced from within India. 2. US$ - Cost of components sources from outside.

Let the truth be out about our defense manufacturing capability. :dude:
Kalyani ULH is made with the American Defense Contractor the Mandus Group as a consultant, so there is definitely foreign help in the design. Components wise we’ll probably never know until an order is placed.

hhmm need to check, probably they took consultancy for metallurgical things or certifications etc ? i mean design does seem like scaled down GC-45 with some covering etc so probably assitance was on making it a compatible thing rather than usually seen screwdriver giri stuff ?

Mandus group helped Kalyani to develop a soft-recoil system for ULH. That is their contributions.
Metallurgy, design and other components are in-house developed by Kalyani, based on experience gained in GC-45 and ATAGS designs.

Current level of technology can't be handled by a single OEM alone, no surprise kalyani taken technically service from others.

Jai ho SACLOS missile gets 3000 cr order while Nag missile is in the dumping yard . #Atmanirbhar
NAG is already in service. Dhruvastra, Helina & SANT will be inducted in big number once they clear all trials and integrated with the launch platforms. These NAG & SANT are not here to replace these SACLOS missile instead they will compliment them. SACLOS are cheap and have different purposes. We don't have infinite budget. For LOC bunker busting we will not use ultra expansive NAG or SANT instead we will use these Konkurs.

No I don't think so. I feel like there is a very good reason on why Budget of Navy is less as compared to the Other 3 Services.

Gradually as our economy grows, our Defence Budget will also increase ,Navy's will also increase and we will be able to afford new assets like more Aircraft Carriers, submarines ,warships etc and we will be able to strengthen our Navy.

By the way why do you feel like that we should be spending more on the Navy?
There are reason behind why Budget of Navy is less as compared to the other service. One of them is that the IN is the smallest and weakest force amoung them. Even with all the constitutional restrictions Japanese have a better navy.

Look at India's map, India is an island nation. Our economic growth is into the IO. Close to 95% of our trade by volume 75% in value goes through the ocean. IOR is not just 200km around our shore. With the rapid growth of PLAN and increased focus on IOR. We are going to have a serious problem.

India will loose if we fight an army centric war against China. They will win it, either by superior force or prolonged engagement. Best we can hope for is a stalemate but anything longer than a particular period, will severely affect our economy. They can hurt our fragile economy with their army. We cant do that with ours.
We should play on our strength instead of following the lines enemy drawn for us.

IN should have been in a position to have presences across the IOR, to be the net security provider by 2030. Hope we can get there atleast by 2050.

Because as things are today, among the three forces, IN is the only force that can defeat its Chinese counterpart and take on China as a nation and their war fighting capabilities. We could loose this edge very soon.

BDL was given a contract to supply konkurs missiles worth 3133 crore rupees to the army
Any idea how many are going to be acquired, back in 2022 we acquired some 10,000 Konkurs-M for $250 million.
This new deal is worth some $420 million
