Israeli Defence Analyst urges Jerusalem to invest in India’s AMCA over American F-35

Israeli Defence Analyst Caroline B. Glick who served has Captain in Israel Defense Forces in her latest report has urged Benjamin Netanyahu’s government in effort to maintain Israel’s qualitative edge against Iran should not depend on American solely on supply fighter jet after US administration rejected Israel’s requests for additional F-15 systems which it could have used to defend against Iran attacks.

US administration also has rejected Israel’s request to outfit its own electronics systems and bunker buster bombs in its current fleet of F-15 and instead wants Israel to buy F-35 which has been facing technical issues and will take next few years to fully become operationalised.

Analyst argues that F-35 is an impressive next generation fighter. But at the same time, as Aaron Lerner from IMRA news aggregation service noted this week, the F-35 suffers from one major weakness that arguably cancels out all of its advantages. That weakness is the F-35’s operational dependence on software laboratories and logistics support computers located in the US.

She also explains that All F-35 aircraft operating across the world will have to update their mission data files and their Autonomic Logistic Information System (ALIS) profiles before and after every sortie, to ensure that onboard systems are programmed with the latest available operational data and that ALIS is kept permanently informed of each aircraft’s technical status and maintenance requirements.“ALIS can, and has, prevented aircraft taking off because of an incomplete data file.

F-35’s continuous dependence on a US-based logistics system is a critical weakness is that it would be irresponsible of Israel to trust that the US will not abuse its power to undermine and block IAF operations.

In light of the F-35s massive vulnerabilities and the diminishment of US power in the Middle East and beyond, Netanyahu should view India’s enthusiasm for Israeli systems as an opportunity to end the IAF’s utter dependence on increasingly undependable US systems.

Analyst urges that procurement of the 14 additional F-35s, Netanyahu should offer Modi to jointly develop a next-generation AMCA fighter jet based on the Lavi.
Let hope it becomes a reality .both Israel and india benifit from it

No, India always learns from mistakes. Like India didn't repeat Dhruv's mistakes in LCH, AMCA project is going very well as compared to LCA.

This article is just made for drum beating bigotry and delusion that IAF is depleting (obviously not true) but our friends on other side of LoC may sleep well after reading this $hit.

I have been saying this over everything else.

Let's hope Modi ji's visit to Israel this year results in this.

Guys, I have couple of questions about AMCA.
1. Why does AMCA has 4tn internal fuel where as F-35 has 8tn? Both are medium fighters and of around same empty weight! Is it because F-35 has less no. internal weapons than AMCA? AMCA will have 2 weapon bays with 4 missiles each,i.e., 8 in internal bays. So by carrying more weapons internally, it sacrifices half of in-fuel capacity. Is it the reason?
2. Top speed of AMCA is mach 2.5 (mentioned in wiki)!! Is it true?

Please reply..

Well there are a no of factor like range ,fuel efficiency, average speed ,load ,drag etc.F 35 has a very powerful engine need for VTOL but it take a lot of fuel plus it has more drag then AMCA so it need more fuel.
IAF in their requirement said it to be Mach 2.5 plus but at that speed the heat is extreme so it will be for max 2 to 5 min in full after burner .

But that does not answer my question....how does F-35 has 8tn internal fuel when it is of same weight as of AMCA? And can you give me link which shows IAF quoting speed of AMCA to be mach 2.5!

I don't think there is any official confirmation that AMCA internal fuel will be only 4 ton.
Also no confirmation on Internal weapon bays.
As well as no confirmation on empty weight of the fighter.

I believe AMCA will be little bit bigger then F-35 but still will be made of at least 70% composites and will be much slick in design. F-35 is just a fat hippo. So I believe AMCA will be at least 2 tons lighter in empty weight to F-35. Some what 11 tons. With almost 5 tons internal fuel and approx 16.5 tons loaded weight. That will be #0% internal fuel.

AMCA will most probably look like Japani X-2 "Shinshin" but wider than it and less lengthy.
