Is that wise (US reaction to S-400)? Same problem with P&W. Turkey is not a favourite of France, either. Only leaves RR out of the big four. They got involved with Turkish company Kale Group in 2017 but withdrew 2019. *

In 2018 GE's local partner TUSAS proposed that Turkey should buy an existing GE engine with ToT. *

Rr not going for those retards ,who are going to face economical woes soon , their inflation is rising ,they plan to buile a fucking aircraft carrier , lhd , frigate , Destroyer , a light aircraft , a heavy helicopter , tanks and all , i think they require some sort of mental treatment .

And i don't think when tempest program too require a engine which will be almost based on current jv ,they will go for turks with less money or india who will pint enough money to get it done .

I don't know if RR could work on 2 at the same time but what need?

If I were RR, I would be interested in getting involved in a JV with a country with a need for 1,000+ engines over 20 years. I'm not a fighter or jet engine designer but I could see India needing 1,000+ 100kN-120kN engines in the 2030's-2040's. I imagine a new 110kN engine design could easily be pushed to develop 10% more power or derated by 10% , so would be good for AMCA and re-engining MWF, TEDBF when engines need replacing.

Assuming each fighter needs 2 replacement engines in its service life, I get

200 x MWF - 400 replacement engines
50 x TEDBF - 200 replacement engines
40 x AMCA Mk1 - 160 replacement engines
80 x AMCA Mk2 - 160 engines for new aircraft
80 x AMCA Mk2 - 320 replacement engines for IAF

Total: 1240 engines

I ignore

- any exports
- any re-orders of MWF
- any re-orders of AMCA
- any engine sales to other fighter producers

1. cant say about HMD but mk2 early jets will have BAE light HUD. also we ar developing our own HUD as was said in the DDR interview.
I thought the HUD was developed and in mass manufacturing.

Tedbf order will be well above 100 ,simple reason , india is building airbase in Mauritius , andaman and Nicobar need more jets , Lakshadweep too . In case we deploy some Jet in some foreign land we need more , indian navy want 50 primary for one aircraft carrier and some ground based , rest all necessary haven't been counted yet

So Turkey has literally no option but only GE who are not trustable
And a country like Turkey which has literally no knowledge in turbofan engines can't even develop on their own incase GE backsoff

Their drones which they claim as their top notch product after lot of co development with nato allies , can we say same for us , we had to do most of things on our own
We are also a much bigger power with a long history in arms than modern Turkey.

- 5th largest economy
- 3rd largest defence spender
- 3rd largest power generator
- 2nd largest population
- 2nd largest military force on the planet.

With these kinds of stats backing us up, it is a shame that we have to be compared to Turkey, which does not even feature in the top 10 in any of these.

What stopped India from rapidly increasing collaborations with Brazil, South Korea, Sweden, Finland, Australia, South Africa, Ukraine, Serbia and Israel for defence production knowledge? What was any government doing for the last 70 years?

Forget that; why didn't the NDA government choose mid-level tech powers to collaborate and instead went about pursuing big ones?

Brazil even approached HAL to buy a stake in Embraer after Boeing backed out of the KC-390 project. And yet there is 0 news about it. Having a say in the KC-390 project is an example of strategic developments that would benefit India.

Instead, Indian government buys weapons like it is buying vegetables at a wholesale market.

India's defense production needs radical, radical reforms otherwise we are done for.

Unfortunately defence is the last priority to us and will continue to remain so. Turkey despite being a small troubled economy they are spending billions of dollars on TFX alone every year but here govt is finding hard to clear just 2 billion dollars for AMCA.

Are yaar, I deleted a photo related to HUD. Last year in Dainik Jagran, information about HUD was published.

I know its kind of wrong to ask this here but my question is
How much of what we have achieved from Tejas project would carryover to AMCA and vice versa?
Most of the things in AMCA will be from scratch, the FBW and Mission computer can be said to be a carry
over from the Light Combat Aircraft programme.
