Centreline dual BVR is carried by no other patform. But it seems the pylons below each intakes can take only 450kg HSLD bombs & pods (may or may not be BVRAAM compatible due to length constraints)... Otherwise why show bombs at A2A configuration, instead of jammer at centre & BVRs there?

The truth is that 4+ gen jets are going no where as the fighter aircraft generation building saturation has arrived, a 5th gen aircraft can’t do everything that a 4th Gen can do, while 4th gen can do everything that all previous generation can do. Hence 4th generation jets are going no where plus one factor more is complexity and high cost of making 5th gen aircraft. 5th Gen and 4th Gen both can’t be operated independently in this era, hence USAF knows it very well that both need to be focussed at. As 4+ gen jets can carry anything that a 5th gen can do.

Why new clean sheet design? Why not buy that F-21 (F-16 Ultra Pro Max 12GB RAM 512GB Storage) that Lockheed Martin claims to be the best 4th gen in the world? Don't take my word as final but I heard from someone involved in the Mk2 program that the initial Mk2 lot will have 98KN 414 engines and later lots can see EPE with 116KN since this will be a drop fit. Kaveri unlikely since that might not be a drop fit for the F414.

4.5 gen has/will become more relevant with stealthy wingman flying beside.Btw is tejas mk2 equipped with interferometry for precise location of targeting emitters ,also can anybody tell if there is any plan to upgrade the dc maws to support 8-12 micron to function as irst das system both rwr with dcmaws with sensor fusion can be very good for situational awareness

4.5 Gen is like infantry and 5th Generation is like Special Forces, both are equally important and both sre equally required.
