Chinese 125 mm DTW10-125 (the so-called "Type III")

self-sharpening WHA

No-wind cap design

projectile ~ 675 mm penetrator ~ 635 mm (for comparison: M829A1 penetrator 660 mm)

muzzle velocity 1820 m/s (when fired by the new gun on Type 99A MBT. When fired by common Type 98 gun mounted on Type 99 and Type 96A, it has a much lower speed)

penetration: estimated to be ~730 mm @ 2 km (for comparison: DM53 when fired by L55 will have a penetration of ~680 mm @ 2 km. M829A2 ~700 mm. M829A3 ~ 780 mm @ 2 km)

DTW10-125 has a very novel and interesting design. The first modern AP without wind-cap in the world. There must be some unknown break-through in the flight / penetration theory.
