If square nozzles are introduced in the Su-57 then we can expect the IR signature of the engines to greatly reduce, at the cost of reduced thrust. I think Russians won't mind compromising a bit on thrust for reducing the IR signature and overall RCS of the Su-57 "felon". The Su-57 is being projected as a fifth generation Stealth fighter, and it needs to be made as stealth as possible. Also IIRC, the intend to include these flat nozzles in the S-70 Okhotnik Stealth drone which is intended to act as a wingman meant to operate in conjunction with the Su-57.no changes just talks of using a square nozzle ass for next time on possible future modifications with the 3 stream cycle engine.
