If they put a better stock then the gun actually looks dope af
the era of custom buttstocks is also going down with emergence of two things
> AR15 style buffer tube buttstocks; which often goes on any firearm with compatible adapter and a lot of modern era guns have got these kind of adapters already, be it AK or so
> vertical picatiny rails itself as a holder/mount for picatiny-mounted buttstocks, 'specially in 2020s era newer rifles are coming this way, e.g. SIG NGSW-R "SPEAR"
1699512490742.png

it's easiest solution for all your different buttstock problems and needs - like same picatiny rail goes on different kind of guns be it rifles to submachine guns and so, all you need to be careful about is using enough material with needed strength at buttstock side for that part to be held there - likewise it provides great amount of flexibility to the user to choose and install his perferred buttstock without much tinkering around with armourer-level toolwork for it

and second path is also what i believe OFB//AWEIL, ARDE, DRDO et al folks should be looking at - of course if only they have stopped using Internet Explorer by now (no pun intended)
it took them almost two decades (sheesh) to put picatiny rails above their firearms since picatiny railed guns came out in 90s - same time INSAS was being developed; maybe at least 5 years to a decade for adopting to picatiny rail as buttstock mount thing

Delhi Police to bid adieu to 7,000 British era .303 rifles
New Delhi, Nov 18 (PTI) The British era .303 rifles, which remained a part of the Delhi Police for decades, will soon be retired from the force, according to a senior officer.

According to the Delhi Police, at least 7,000 such firearms, better known as three-nought-three rifles, are set to be dismantled by the force.

“The use of these weapons came to an end years back and they are ready for dismantling,” the officer said.
These .303 rifles are kept at the armoury unit of the Delhi Police.

According to sources, a Joint Commissioner rank officer has been appointed to oversee the dismantling of these weapons. The whole operation will be done under the supervision of a committee set by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The .303 calibre Lee-Enfield rifles were initially manufactured in UK arms factory, and extensively used in World War I and II. In India, these rifles were used by the Indian army during the Indo-China war in 1962 and later handed over to the state forces.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Provisioning and Logistics) Vinit Kumar confirmed that the weapons were up for dismantling.

Another officer said, the process of dismantling of these weapons, each of which weighs approximately 5 kg, is lengthy, and involves removal and destruction of each part. Before they are destroyed, the barrel and the body parts are separated, so that it cannot be further used. The iron from the firearm is melted.

“The procurement of the cartridges of these guns was stopped soon after the force decided to end the service of these weapons. Therefore, there is no ammunition left for these guns,” an officer said.

The Delhi Police currently has SLR, INSAS, and AK47 for long range, 9 mm Glock pistol, revolvers for short range, and JVPC and MP5 as machine guns, which are used during special operations.

An officer said that the old sten guns, a relic from the World War, will also be soon dismantled. A huge chunk of these guns is kept in the armoury.

“Once these rifles get dismantled, sten guns will be next,” the officer added.

Many state forces, including Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, have already retired the.303 rifles.

The Mumbai Police had decided to replace these guns soon after the 26/11 attack, when its personnel had a confrontation with terrorists armed with much sophisticated AK 47.

@Johny_Baba and others on the sub what do you guys think? People are saying 2lac for this
overall good, my only gripe with the design is it seems to be 'inspired' from SIG SAUER's P320 // M18 one and that pistol is already criticised a lot for range of issues starting from parts breakage to misfires and what not - that design of 'trigger group in a stamped metal housing in a polymer shell as grip' thing on P320 // M18 doesn't seem to be that reliable so keep that in mind...

but overall a giant step forward in terms of desi defense productions because what do we have otherwise ? OFB made .32 revolver and pistols of ~100 years old designs

in a previos some post of mine i thought it was based on FN 509 pistol owning to how they derived their Indra Rifle from SCAR design etc, but after a while i found a much near pistol to Atal that SIG Sauer P320 was, and since then I believe it is (read again) derived from that one.

If true then this is how it would disassemble to primary parts

🤷‍♂️
and same SIG SAUER got criticised in the US for supplying their armed forces with "modern" P320 pistols//P17 Pistols that fires on their own and ended up injuring many; and SIG SAUER gays claim it got resolved with new batches or whatever but it still happens as this article is from 3 dec 2022, not so old
right in muh SIG SAUER

both P320 and P17 just breaking apart in two thanks to that design of polymer frame that houses metal framed fire control unit; and lol i used to think worst about these pistols were that they go bang bang abruptly on their own...

besides there aremore issues like
- ejector (fixed blade type, part of metal frame of FCU) gets bended after some use (rumoured to be happening because of overinsertion) and in worst cases it just locks up slide to the frame, so you cannot cycle it anymore
View attachment 199989
View attachment 199993
or outright breaks off the pistol and gets lodged inside working parts causing issues or what not, making you get a new metal frame for FCU itself 🤷‍♂️
View attachment 199987
- tip of firing pin breaks off the pin and gets lodged inside working parts of just gets stuck within slide, causing ranging of issues like obstruction in slide movement to worse, slamfires

🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ amreekis...they should've just kept using Berettas or if they wanted a striker fired pistol so badly then Glock was already there in that race but *somehow* SIG SAUER won

for detailed article, image source and more info on this charade of a gun,

and for sake of fair criticism, here is ruskie counterpart,
MP-443 'Grach', here chambered in ;less lethal; 10x28mm ammo for police usage etc things;
notice its polymer frame also got broken very similarly like SIG SAUER P320 // P17 with that separate FCU remaining somewhat intact with slide part, as i shown in post above

They are coming out with .45 version too and 9 mm for the military I think it's a great leap forward for our country who had nothing but old revolvers in the market maybe this will inspire others or just Astr guys will keep working on and making there products Better.

bullpup chassey kit for a bufferless AR-15 fork called Foxtrot Mike FA-15
1701070019726.png

quite impressive, they especially covered that major gripe on bullpup conversion (and bullpup rifles in general) that being trigger pull being mushy by providing a proper linking mechanism between triggers instead of going ahead with a simple transfer bar to the actual trigger group

I think another major bufferless AR that could benefit from a bullpup kit like this is CMMG Dissent
1701070185893.png

and perhaps SIG SAUER MCX too
1701070566040.png

though, MCX stll takes typical T-bar charging handle and may need some rework on upper for side charging handles or some other jugaad, but possible yes with side charging handle add-ons for AR
devil dog side charging handle AR.jpg

in next move, they should rather aim to make similar kit to this for those CQB or SBR shorter buffer AR-15s for bringing larger AR-based rifles on table than some special ones as these type of buffers typically can go on any conventional AR, and they probably can benefit from putting an adjustable buttstock piece on those smaller tubes, and it'll be still compact enough for bullpup things
noveske cqb stock AR.jpg

maxim defence cqb stock AR.jpg

to something like this
1701077701054.png

this is some Reap Weaponries SCY bullpup kit for AR, but it's got linear transfer bar for triggers and installation isn't that direct so yeah
