Lmao, IWI has a lot to offer and we are busy FAB Modding our AKs or going for AK-203, this surely should be our next weapon instead of AK-203.
This is not a good AK in terms of disassembly and maintenance imho, i'd rather pick up AK-203 over this.

classic case of overengineering and jooish prachaar

But then AK-203 isn’t AK-203 which we are getting, we’re getting an AK-103M. Which is no substantial upgrade.

Ak deal is shit and everyone knows it.ak will be helpful for RR but why need 7 lakh? Already 144k sig716 are there for all three forces and with the 93k carbines +300k total req would be good enough.I personaly think most of the ak203 will end up in the hands of CRPF,BSF and other guys but they are already using OFB aks then why is the need for this ak203? We will gain nothing from it as we are already good at making aks .this ak203 deal is really the scam of decade.

Lol, CAPFs will never touch that dirt, the fact that they already use Bulgarian AK-47s which are far superior to AK-203 or I would say AK-103M.

I personally feel that 5.56 NATO is something we should stick on for CAPFs, because 7.62x39 is good for CAPF in small numbers as it is too lethal at close range plus the ammunition is heavy and their magazines are bigger than the 5.56 NATO ones, hence more mags with 5.56 NATO can be carried by each CAPF guy, plus the fact that 5.56 NATO is lethal enough, survivability chances are high plus the 5.56 NATO cartridge is very accurate. So I feel 14.5” variants of the Carbines the army is procring should be procured as Army will buy 10.5“ SBRs and not 14.5” Carbines.

SCAR-H is known as a scope killer due to the vibrations in upper receiver caused whenever a round is fired. Same goes for Kalashnikovs, but AKs have evolved a lot. FN will take years in resolving this issue.

Scar was always meant to be a special forces weapon but it had a lot of deficiencies in a test it had less stoppages than the m4 but m4 still sticks in the US spec op teams and scar l has been replaced and only H variant is in use.

It has a low rate of fire, is heavier, is bulky, is expensive, is a scope killer, and it’s sales are banned to us. I feel I should talk to FN Belgium and tell them sab changa si here.

I feel Indian Army should start focussing on modernisation, I see at LoC soldiers are there for recce and not engagements even though engagements happen every few ours, not days, not weeks but every few hours. Yet we have equipment for recce and not fighting, soldiers have NVGs there but lack lasers for use as the NVGs are given to them for reconnaissance while they can use lasers with their SiG-716i to hunt down intruders easily. While we are already manufacturing MEPRO Sting lasers in India, Army isn’t giving a damn about it. Tonbo makes all kinds of optronics except Weapon sights (red dot or holo). We have the infrastructure and indigenous products, just we don’t procure them en masse. Government forgets that they can create employment through defence industry for the educated unemployed. We already make Magnified optics, thermal sights etc. We already have MKU for best Bulletproof equipment and we have ARMASEN for best plate carriers and tactical clothing.

We say a lot about indigenisation while we ourselves are ignoring it. Imagine that soldiers are most important component of Army and requires just 3 Billion dollars for modernisation in equipment on par with US standards, and all of it can be achieved indigenously. Imagine 3 Billion dollars only compared to the billions invested in fancy toys, which are important but our infantry remains ignored.

Sad part is that this amount of money will not be wasted and will help indian companies still we don't want infantry guys to get what they deserve

Indian companies with their money earned will only spend it on R&D for better products which will benefit us, that’s how NATO became stronger militarily, they spend on their own products and the profits they earn causes better products in future. How much burden can DRDO take? Imagine only BEL Manufactures indigenous Holographic sights yet Army doesn’t give a huge order for them, why do they forget that these funds when flows into the economy returns back to the government via taxes quickly.

In terms of Indigenisation Army is useless, I have no hope on them, Indian Navy has indigenised majority of their needs, like more than 95%, look at how Indian Airforce is tapping startups for indigenous push and all, while Army has a habit of destroying indigenous companies that tend to help them, Army purposely changes specs of indigenous weapons so that end product becomes shit and then they can do नख़रे and reject it, Indian Airforce used to do the same until Our Air Chief Marshall RKS Bhadauria took charge and now all our projects are indigenous with private contribution in a huge amount. This socialist mindset plagued us else we would have long had defence companies decades ago which would have achieved levels of American defence companies, but then being a businessman was a crime hence only government companies were allowed to perform.

OFB is a strategic asset, hence should not be corporatised, it should be reformed and its inefficiencies must be treated, first throw out all communists.
