Desperate Pakistan pushes in more terrorists, plans BAT action against Indian Army posts
During his meeting with leaders of the Jaish-e-Mohammed and the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in Chakoti in Pakistan-ccupied Kashmir on October 9, the director general of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar, had spoken about pushing in as many terrorists as possible into Jammu and Kashmir before the onset of winter. He was accompanied by four Pakistan Army officers: Brigadier Hafiz Ahmed, Lieutenant Colonel Javad Ahmad, Major Zafar Ali and Captain Mansoor Ali.

The process of pushing terrorists in has begun. Significantly, keeping in mind Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar's orders of placing the maximum number possible before the snowfall, larger groups of terrorists are being pushed in. Normally, a group isn't more than three to four terrorists, but the latest intelligence reports show that over ten terrorists are being pushed in and in some cases, even 20.

*Intelligence reports speak of 20 terrorists led by ISI Subedar Razak Ahmed and Pakistan Field Intelligence United Havaldar Abdul Karim are at Sank, headquarters of the 834 Mujahid unit of the Pakistan Army. They are opposite Cruwala at Uri and there are warnings of BAT (battle action team) action against Indian outposts on the Line of Control and also, infiltration.

*11 terrorists of the Laskhar-e-Toiba with Hassan Din and Nazir Ahmed of Uri as guides are also at Sank.

*Close by are 5 Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists with Mohammed Shafi as guide at Sarzivan, a Pakistan-occupied Kashmir village. Their intentions are also BAT action against Indian posts like Cruwala, Chand 2, Rhino, Log 1 and 2 on the Line of Control. Their likely path of entry is through Lower Tambacoowala to Upper Tambacoowala to Uri.

*6 Hizbul terrorists are opposite Dhulanga on their way to Nagadori. They are likely to be involved in BAT attacks and suicidal attacks on isolated establishments.

*5 terrorists are at Sheriwali Baihk in the Kalmabad area near Kupwara
Smaller groups are also closing in.

*3 foreign terrorists are close to Batagi in the Baramulla sector with orders to attacks security forces, road opening parties or engage in stand-off attacks.

*3 terrorists have entered J&K through Jabari in the Tangdhar sector

*4 Lashkar terrorists are at the Pak forward defence post of Mohridura where the Pakistani Army 760 Mujahid battalion is located. The guide is Iqbal Khan of Rampur.

*There are four to six Lashkar terrorists who have entered through Authmuqam and are moving towards Rauta Nar and the Rajwar forests.

*On October 18, two foreign Lashkar terrorists were seen moving towards Bahrampur near Baramulla. They are likely to attack security forces, establishments, and road opening parties.


On 15 October, 3 foreign Lashkar terrorists were seen near Baramulla.

And yet, Pakistan is keen on talks. The Indian external affairs spokesman has made it clear that talks are not possible till Pakistan stops aiding terrorists.

Pakistani authorities want beefed up security for Hafiz Saeed

LAHORE: Pakistani authorities have written to the Punjab home department asking it to take stringent measures for the security of detained Mumbai attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed
, claiming a "foreign intelligence agency" had planned to kill him.

In the letter, the National Counter Terrorism Authority said the foreign spy agency had paid Rs 80 million to two activists of a banned outfit for the assassination of Saeed.

It asked the Punjab home department to ensure foolproof security for the Jamat-ud-Dawah (JuD) chief.


Saeed has been under house arrest in Lahore since January 30 under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.


The home department last month had extended his detention for another 30 days (till November 26) under public safety law.


The department's notification had said, "There is apprehension that Saeed shall create a law and order situation upon release".


The JuD has already been declared as a foreign terrorist organisation by the US in June 2014. The JuD chief carries a reward of $10 million announced by the US for his role in terror activities.

600 Infantry Battalions on LoC and LAC to be equipped with UAV's for eyes in the sky

The Army will have ‘Make in India’ “eyes in the skies” both at the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan and Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China for strengthening surveillance of cross-border terrorism and transgressions as also counter-insurgency operations in the hinterland. All the 600 infantry battalions manning the LoC and LAC apart from those deployed in the counter-terrorism grid will be equipped with mini-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The project is worth Rs 1,000 crore.

The trials of the equipment, supplied by a dozen of odd competitors, began earlier this week. The Army expects to shortlist the ultimate vendor soon and the supplies are likely to begin within a year. The initial evaluation is on to determine if the UAVs meet the technical specifications as mentioned by the Army in its tender. The project is ‘Buy India’, meaning the Army will procure UAVs manufactured only by Indian vendors. It will be the first big deal to be inked under this category, sources said here on Friday.

The mini-UAVs, weighing about 35 kg, can fly at height of over 4,000 to 5,000 metres and have a range of 10 km.

They will be the armed forces’ eyes in the skies, sources said adding it means, the battalion commanders can get real-time information about movement of terrorists towards the LoC and transgressions by the Chinese Army into India at the LAC.
The UAV can be controlled from a system carried in a backpack of a soldier and the commander just has to view the pictures generated by the “eye in sky” on a laptop or palm-sized screen, they said.

Every battalion (1,000 soldiers) manning the 750-km long LoC in Jammu & Kashmir will get one UAV each. The same formula will be followed for the battalions guarding the 4,000 km long LAC touching States like Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.

As per records, nearly 350 transgressions by the Chinese Army take place every year mostly in Ladakh, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. The armies of the two countries had recently engaged in a face-off in Doklam in Sikkim for nearly 72 days and ultimately withdrawn after diplomatic and political interventions at the highest level in both the governments.
Able to loiter for more than 120 minutes at a range of 10 km, the UAVs will relay images as they are happening, thereby, giving enough time to the Indian Army deployed at the LAC to prevent transgressions, officials said.

Similarly, these UAVs will give more teeth to the operational commanders for dealing with infiltration from across the LoC, backed by the Pakistan Army and ISI. Moreover, the battalions guarding the LoC will get better “situational awareness about” any Pakistan Army build up or activity, they said.

The Rashtriya Rifles(RR) battalions, part of the Army, engaged in counter-insurgency operations will also be equipped with the UAVs for dealing with militancy mostly in Jammu and Kashmir as the RR are deployed there.

This acquisition will enhance the capabilities of the infantry which for the past few years is grappling with obsolete equipment including rifles, carbines, light and medium machine guns.
