Why is that news? Why are our news channels so obsessed with everything they say in China? Sure it may mean he wants to start a war, but most probably it's just the same old morale booster and meant to prop up his own image in front of his people. Chinese news sites dont give two shits about what our leaders say unless it's directly adressed to China. Sometimes not even that.
China is a powerful country it's a part of P5 UNSC and a global player, and economic rival to India. This is why.

I am against this ''if needed!!''

It's like saying you don't need POK at the moment but will be needed.

by the way in China

Why is this Xi not even attacking India? What is the point of all this statement? What is the point of bravado in Doklam and patharbaazi in Pangong lake? Itna kuch kiya, phir bhi south Tibet ka ek inch bhi haath nahin aaya. (Read this part in Chinese).

It may be so, but it reflects very poorly on our media, and as a result us the consumers. This type of coverage conveys that we are constantly obsessing over China and give them way more importance than they will ever give us. It makes us look weaker than we are.

After Doklam crisis, India plans to develop more airfields along China border in Ladakh

In the aftermath of the Doklam crisis, India is now planning to develop more airfields in the eastern Ladakh area along the China border so that it can rapidly deploy troops in large numbers in case of any misadventure by the neighbouring state.

"In Ladakh, we have realised that deploying troops for a long time or throughout the year is not feasible. Harsh winters and rough terrain make the job all the more difficult. This is why we plan to develop airfields where we can deploy troops in large numbers using air assets," a top defence source said.

The Air Force is scouting airfields in the area from where the transport aircraft of the force can land and take off whenever required, the source said.

Sources said during the height of the Doklam crisis, the Indian and Chinese armies had deployed close to 9,000 troops (equal to one infantry division) opposite each other for carrying out exercises in their respective areas.

The Indian Army had issued an operational alert during the crisis as part of which the troops had been deployed by it from the newly-raised mountain strike corps.

"Two brigades (6,000 troops) have already been withdrawn from there and sent back to their actual locations after we called off the alert about 10 days ago," the source said.

Sources said the troops could not have been retained in the area due to the onset of harsh winters and beginning of snowfall, which would have completely blocked land routes and forced them to rely on air evacuation.

The deployment of an additional division meant the army had close to 20,000 troops in eastern Ladakh at the height of the crisis. In normal conditions, it has only one division (Karubased 3 Infantry Division).

As per inputs received by intel agencies, Chinese units are also withdrawing from their areas gradually.

NYOMA AIRFIELD PROJECT

The search for a new airfield is expected to revive the Indian Air Force's Nyoma airfield project that has been stuck for many years now, as it would be turned into a full-fledged base where all types of transport aircraft can land.

The IAF had once landed its Antonov-32 aircraft at this airfield and has been trying to develop it as its base closest to the Chinese border in eastern Ladakh.

Sources said the IAF had also tried to look at Chushul for developing an airfield but it did not seem to be a viable project and is more interested in the development of Nyoma where the air strip was last used in the 1960s.

Nyoma is located at a height of 13,000 feet and India stopped using it after the war with China in 1962, but reactivated it in 2009. India is also upgrading all its seven Advance Landing Grounds (ALGs) in Arunachal Pradesh, some of which have already been activated. IAF's C-130J Super Hercules planes have already landed there.

These are not fullfledged air bases but landing strips which can be used to drop off troops and supplies. Some can be used for refueling fighter jets.

The Arunachal ALGs were also deactivated after the 1962 war.

Since August, India and China were engaged in a bitter stand-off on Bhutanese soil in Doklam as the Chinese were building a road to Jhamphiri which would have brought it very close to our chicken's neck area which separates the northeastern states from rest of the country]]]]]

They are also not prepared and they don't take India lightly. Before 1962 they prepared themselves. Right now China is in preparation mode.

It amazes me to think that when China is concerned, excuses are around the corner. But same doesn't applied for when India is concerned.
because Indians are not happy in their own country. Many even migrated to China for better life.. or business opportunities. It's only the government which has issues with neighbours people don't care.

:clap2::clap2: claps for your paki like madrassa logic!

Not all people are NRI's. NRI's have their family back home in India who are protected by the Indian army.
When neighbor attacked India in Mumbai, pathankot and lots of other terrorists attack.. people DID care as lots of people in India died, who were civilians which belonged to the "people" category you talked about.

Govt has issues because, the neighbors are an issue.

Sitharaman in Arunachal, reviews situation and defence infrastructure

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday reviewed the situation and defence infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh with Chief Minister Pema Khandu and senior Army officials.

Sitharaman is on a maiden visit to Arunachal Pradesh, large parts of which Beijing claims as part of south Tibet. She will be visiting the forward areas in the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh bordering Myanmar.

Sitharaman is accompanied by Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra, Eastern Command Chief Lt. Gen. Abhay Krishna, General Officer Commanding of Gajraj Corps, Lt Gen Amarjeet Singh Bedi and General Officer Commanding of 3 Corps, Lt. Gen. Anil Chauhan.

While reviewing the situation besides defence infrastructure, the Defence Minister promised that the Indian Air Force infrastructural facilities in the Advanced Landing Grounds shall be permitted for civilian use.

She also assured that requisite funds will be released for conducting survey for laying the strategic railway line from Assam’s Missamari to Tawang, the border with China.

On the issue of strengthening strategic Balipara-Charduar-Tawang road, Sitharaman said the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) would be given clear directions for fast tracking its upgradation and all necessary funds would be provided for maintenance as well.

She informed Chief Minister Khandu that the system of functioning of BRO has been completely restructured with greater autonomy and delegation of powers for faster implementation.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister impressed upon the need to expedite the operationalisation of the Brigade headquarters in Tirap district so as to deal with the problem of insurgency in the region.

The Defence Minister assured Khandu that the brigade headquarter would be made operational by December 2018.

Describing the visit of Sitharaman to Arunachal as a “landmark and historic visit”, Khandu raised the urgent need to establish a cantonment in the capital area of Itanagar, for which necessary land would be acquired.

The Defence Minister assured the Chief Minister that this would be accorded high priority.

Khandu also raised the issue of need for expansion of land for Tawang township and urged the Defence Minister to consider freeing up some idle land in the vicinity of the township. She directed the GOC-in-C, Eastern Command to look into this matter favourably and submit a report urgently after consulting the district administration and government officials.

Detailed deliberations were held on a whole gamut of issues in relation to land matters and other important issues of Arunachal Pradesh with Ministry of Defence. The Defence Minister gave an in-principle approval for establishment of three Sainik Schools – one each in Tawang, Pasighat and Tirap-Changlang-Longding (TCL) belt.

The proposal for establishment of an airport at Dirang was also discussed and the armed forces evinced a strong interest in the proposal. The Defence Minister stated that this proposal will be given due consideration.

Earlier, Sitharaman called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd) at Raj Bhavan and discussed wide ranging defence issues, with special reference to Arunachal Pradesh.

You can say that and more TILL one of your family member or your own loved ones get killed in such an incident of terror attack.
The problem with many is that unless it hits them on the face they wont understand...till then they live with the happiness that it wont happen to them but only to others.

So what is your point? India should attack Pakistan or rather POK and capture some area?
is there any doubt?

...... what is the loss?
Bhai, when I first joined the forum....I used to read your posts with interest. Lately you've lost it.

You've lost your reason.....

You tell me what is the loss.....

I believe that you're reading lot of anti India stuff. You just want something big, so that they can shut up.

A freebie with little or no knowledge on how diplomacy works would call for war on Pak and take POK back. You're in the forum for a very long time. You know the consequences of India attacking Pak. Just give a reason to yourself.....trust me every frustration will settle down (unless you're married :biggrin2:. I am single and it works all the time :bounce:)

The point in all these posts is to realize is to keep the momentum going on.
lately every govt becomes lazy and neglects such issues. You dont have Modi for ever
And let me remind you one last thing after modi Pak and China would do everything possible to give India a bash.
