Such are already employed and when it comes to LOC apart from detection, it's the HUMNAT-IT a booster along that. But this is not the solution. The solution is to totally make their location dysfunctional by capturing the adjoining areas. Otherwise in every two months you will see them pounding us or taking sniper shot. Which is already happening. Even there is a debate going on that the surgical strikes is not the ultimate resort. There has to be more than that. Indian Army can't accept that Porkis every time light up the LOC whenever they want and then call for cease fire.

Whenever there is a foreign visit these bastards try to light up the LOC to raise Kashmir issue. This advantage with them must be snatched soon. And it will be!

The Swathi is something that can do as it traces back the rounds to its source and geolocates it giving pin point grid refenrefe. However Pakistan might purchase these soon.
Swati is one big system. During war it might be probably used to track bigger Artillery shells and Rockets.
The Chinese system seems good for smaller army units. Cheaper and more mobile. May be DRDO can make something on lines of portable Battle Field Surveillance Radar BFSR it developed. Mount on Tata LSV mk2:p

Nirmala visits Ladakh forward areas

Srinagar, February 3

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today visited forward areas along the Indo-China border in Eastern Ladakh, Srinagar-based defence spokesman said.

She arrived at Thoise, where she was briefed on the operational preparedness in the forward areas.

“She visited the highest post in the Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) sector and Chushul along the Indo-China border in Eastern Ladakh and interacted with troops,” the spokesman said.

This was the Defence Minister’s first visit to the DBO sector and to one of the highest posts in Eastern Ladakh. Northern Command chief Lt Gen D Anbu and Corps Commander of the Ladakh Corps accompanied her during the visit.

She complimented the troops for their steadfastness and dedication despite harsh climate and terrain. “Her visit has further boosted the morale of the troops deployed at the extremely difficult snow-covered locations in Ladakh,” he said. — TNS

It seems terror camps are moving away from POK and getting closer to Capital.
POK is just an entry point into India.

Could this be their counter to surgical strikes.

Swathi cannot track 51 or 81mm mortar rounds. (needs software upgrade for tracking 81mm shells)
