I don't know about Tawang, but I don't understand the point of continuing to provide refuge to the Dalai Lama, when the repercussions are plenty and virtually no benefits to speak of.

Also, it's a pipe dream that the US can easily cut China to size. This is, after all, not the Great Leap Forward moronic Chink land anymore. They are actually at a very powerful position vis a vis the USA, no matter how much I might despise the CCP.

The benefit is, China has ZERO reach amongst Indian buddhist population ( and buddhist population in Nepal & Bhutan), as long as the Dalai Llama remains with us and Tawang is with us.

There are 4 towns in Tibet who's monastery's abbots play a role in picking the next Dalai Llama : Lhasa, Xigatze, Amdo and Tawang. 3 of the 4 are in China's hands.
*THIS* is why China wants Tawang so badly, so much so that they offered Aksai Chin as an exchange for Tawang : without Tawang, Chinese control of Tibetan Buddhism- which ALL buddhists in the Himalayan-Tibetan region follow- is not absolute. We can dispute the new Dalai Llama if we wish to, even if China will run with 3 outta 4 claim but it leads to dispute & fracture, not absolute control.
This is why they offered Aksai chin- a land that is far more important to China's defence matrix than India's ( As one of the two main highways connecting Tibet to rest of China passes through Aksai Chin).

And for this very reason, no nationalist government in India will ever give up Tawang, for then the Chinese will have spiritual control & create a gravitational pull towards sinocentrism for ALL himalayan buddhists, akin to the Pope for South America.

We are discussing the critical techs not the raw components. From the DRDO's AIP system and Indigenous ew and Weapon Systems for Lca Tejas all is indigenous. So is the Indigenous radome for Tejas.

Infact we are making our own Indigenous nosecone for Amca, Lca Mk1 Mk2 , Tedbf and other missiles which were earlier License manufactured viz Hal .

China is not more vulnerable than Russia - China is the factory of the world and sits on 3 trillion dollars of US treasury bond- this isnt Chinese money or gold in foreign banks ala Russia, this is USA's debt owned by China. This gives China tremendous leverage over USA and the western world. He who makes your stuff for you, is far more sanction proof than he who sells you raw materials. You can replace raw materials in 1 year from another supplier. You can't just re-grow an entire industrial sector in a year.

There is a huge russian force building up from north and south of Donbass which will then try to close in fast and encircle the defensive positions of UaF. Russia will lose a lot of troops but that is the plan for now.

If they succeed in this, then next step would be closing off Ukraine from the black sea completely by taking Odessa and securing the entire coast.

Of course this is the best case scenario for RuaF so lot of things can go wrong during this time.
Europe and US are still barely sending any weapons to Ukraine compared to what they need...it all depends on the level of support them are getting.

Without sending offensive weapons like Tanks , APCs & Fighter Jets , NATO is only delaying the inevitable . Ukraine needs at least 2000+ tanks, 10000+ APCs & >500 Jets , without it Ukraine will be cucked & landlocked .
