- formal request from India. If you follow your own defense purchases then you will see that India requests it and then we inform our congress to pass a vote on allowing it.
India opened a global tender for everyone to participate. Ask Pentagon & DC why they didn't put F35 in competition. Other american fighters couldn't pass IAF criteria.

US of A lost MRCA tender falling short on technical capability.

Yes it is, Time-Frame 2030 and beyond. DRDO is good in making unlimited paper project.

The UAV project that started 15 years back, still testing & pending...& buying from Israel.
Lets hope there is some progress.. The next target for IAF is UCAV and also some elctronic warfare dedicated fighters.

I would like both France and India invest on Rafale to develop a platform like Growlers.. that would be awesome..

The reports from France seems great, they are ecstatic at the win... they have been at the recieving end for some time with Rafale, beating EFT will be a big ego boost and a good oppertunity for us to ask for more goodies.. They will even rename french kiss and french fries to Indian kiss and Indian fry.. lol

Our " friends " in the "enemy forum " are abusing their leaders for RUINING their economy
and thus making it impossible for them to MATCH this Rafale purchase

Some are calling for PEACE with India while others are FINALLY ADMITTING that
JF 17 is NOT ADDING to their strength and it is just for numbers

That is if JSF is what India seeks, if it's just straight purchase, then F35 will show as one of the interested parties at you next RFP and tender.
F 35 has issues mate, it was grounded
F-35 fleet grounded after electrical subsystem failure

Engine and payload comparison between Dassault Rafale and Eurofighter Typhoon

Dassault Rafale

Empty weight: 9,500 kg
Loaded weight: 14,016 kg
Max. takeoff weight: 24,500 kg
Powerplant: 2 × Snecma M88-2 turbofans
Dry thrust: 50.04 kN (11,250 lbf) each
Thrust with afterburner: 75.62 kN (17,000 lbf) each
Fuel capacity: 4,700 kg (10,000 lb) internal
Payload:9,500 kg
Thrust/weight: 1.10 (100% fuel, 2 EM A2A missile, 2 IR A2A missile)

Eurofighter Typhoon

Empty weight: 11,150 kg
Loaded weight: 16,000 kg
Max. takeoff weight: 23,500 kg
Powerplant: 2 × Eurojet EJ200 afterburning turbofan
Dry thrust: 60 kN (13,000 lbf) each
Thrust with afterburner: 89 kN (20,000 lbf) each
Fuel capacity: 4,500 kg (9,900 lb) internal
Thrust/weight: 1.15(clean)
Payload:7,500 kg

so you can see a TOW of Dassault Rafale 1.10 (100% fuel, 2 EM A2A missile, 2 IR A2A missile) is much better than 1.15 (clean ) of Eurofighter Typhoon

Dassault Rafale is

1.Lighter(so a 75.62 kN engine is enough) but have more Max. takeoff weight than Typhoon.
2.Carry more fuel.
3.Carry more payload
4. Dassault Rafale has a 30mm gun as to 27 mm of Eurofighter Typhoon.

USA has most advanced weapons no doubt...

When it fits Indian necessacity , we ll buy..like a dozen jumbo transport aircraft built in less than 2 years(offrd in 1 year) with reverse thrusters which can land in short runways.. no other country can do it, so India bought it ,.. with minimum strings attached even forgoing advaced comm equipments.

but when we have options we ll choose which suits us best.

we all know i pad is best , still we buy ubislate isnt it ?

What! do you guys just blurt out stuff because it comes to your mind immediately? what does the current tender won by dassault have to do with my conversation of offering the F35 on the additional 80 ( to come) tender?

secondly, F35 was not offered previously because it was not offered to anyone back in what was it 2003-4? when you process started?

Nobody had signed any contract and there was no aircraft to evaluate . Did you want us to send you a paper aircraft to evaluate?

Yes, they are completly taken aback by announcement of Indian MMRCA and its consicuences.
These Easter and Western neighbours are clearly pissed to core, and indias there are just rubbing salt on their wound there.
