126 is fair enough for Air force. it will take 10-12 years to induct these numbers. 1st squadron in 2015 & 2nd in 2017 (Home made), then 1 squadron in every 18 months, most likely.

After 2024, FGFA production will be there with full pace and we don't need Rafale when 5th Generation aircraft is there. So, Hopefully 126 no. is fine. More MKI will be fine for this decade.

We do need a tender for Naval air force, F-35, Rafale and may be typhoon could be 3 options. We need around 50-60 quality fighter jets for AC1,2, Vikramaditya by 2022.

Well, I always wanted Typhoon in tricolor, But somehow everyone knew that Rafale will come so we were mentally prepared. It's also very good fighter jet. One advantage is Pak won't get their dirty hand on Rafale as KSA, UAE both will be operating typhoon.

Hope, France provides tech for nEUROn as Freebies :p

What you are linking to is an official response. What that means is Anthony is stating that an official offer ( on paper) is not made. But we have read comments from US military heads, Hillary and others in the US congress explicitly say that they are very open to offering both JSF and NATO shield to India. It's just not been made formally. All Indian govt heads are aware of america's leaning. Should they get some direct strong interest then we can go to our congress to make it happen. In other words you don't need to see it on paper to let us know you are interested, and for us to inform you that we are too.

AURA developments in tandem with nEUROn UCAV...
Yes it is, Time-Frame 2030 and beyond. DRDO is good in making unlimited paper project.

The UAV project that started 15 years back, still testing & pending...& buying from Israel.

479 users on the thread. I think this is the highest ever on any thread.
It is still low Yusuf Bhai considering the time we all have devoted reading writing on this thread. For me this used to be the first thread to visit on, it was just like bathroom necessary routine to visit this thread. MMRCA thread will be missed big time.

I think the edge that pushed Rafale was the failure in UAE and the subsequent warning to Dassault that no exports means end to Rafale. India still has to work out financials so they know they can get it for even cheaper. The revised bid for Switzerland is evidence of how far you can go with a flame under your butt.

IN is not as stupid as IAF and IA are. Admiral Verma already has mentioned in press release that they will stick to the current fighter jet types. Please google it.
Then we can wait and see about this second tender but y do u think IAF is stupid? not select EFT!

If you are interested you make the offer. Verbal talk is good to kill time at press conference. If your congress wants to sell things, they should formalize the offer. What are they waiting for ? As F35 is not part of this or any MRCA tender, its futile to discuss its prospects in IAF as succeeding MRCA.

I understand the heartburn you are going through because we threw the crappy American planes out of the tender. But you must brace yourself for the shocker when your own defence forces will say no to the F 35. Two trillion in R&D flowing down the drain will make for a pretty picture. In the meantime, over the next 20 years, there will be about 1500 PAK FA's flying. Welcome to the real world - here is the red pill, let me show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

btw: Arent you feeling like shit with me ignoring your name calling?
How old are you ? Why would would I feel any heartburn when every other day you spend more and more on our crappy weapons and aircrafts? You just spent over 10 billion on our transport aircraffs. The only reason you don't spend more is because we have restricted several hardware. What kind of imbecile calls American aircrafts crappy. It's obvious you have no knowledge about defense related realities... You are, what's that term you guys use? "butthurt" , lol, over anything America.

Japan's Next Fighters: F-35 Wins The F-X Competition
Dec 20, 2011 21:33 EST

Back in February 2006, InsideDefense.com's Inside The Air Force (ITAF) reported that momentum was building within the Air Force to sell the ultra-advanced F-22A Raptor abroad to trusted U.S. allies, as a way of increasing numbers and production. One of the most likely export prospects was Japan. The Raptor was discussed at a 2007 summit meeting, and in a number of other venues.

In the end, US politics denied export permission for downgraded export variants of the F-22, even as its production line was terminated. That has left Japan looking at other foreign fighter options in the short term, while considering a domestic fighter option as a long-term project. BAE patiently kept promoting the Eurofighter Typhoon, Boeing introduced a stealth F-15 variant before taking a different tack with its F/A-18 Super Hornet, and Lockheed Martin offered its F-35 models. This article looks at Japan's current force, future options, and ongoing developments"¦

For France it was more about PRESTIGE and Less about Profits

When such HIGH TECH planes remain UNSOLD it is a big blow to any Nation's prestige

Especially when Mirage 2000 has been a quite a favourite with many Air forces around the world

- formal request from India. If you follow your own defense purchases then you will see that India requests it and then we inform our congress to pass a vote on allowing it. That is if JSF is what India seeks, if it's just straight purchase, then F35 will show as one of the interested parties at you next RFP and tender.

Somebody give this guy a handkerchief and some diaper pads before he shits himself. When the goods offered are worth it we will buy. When you try to pass of spurious below par BS as fighter planes we will show you the door.
