How good is this from the operators point of view? Does it have the same infamous reputation of its older brother.
Ofb could have replaced the hand guards and dust cover with the p-rail ones just like Kalashnikovs had done with Ak-203 or with Arsenal M5F41 and such a move could have got atleast a few thousand orders from army.Or atleast we could have sold it to some African or Latin American nations using G-3s or galils.
But OFB is just OFB.

How good it is could be gauged from the fact that it has replaced the INSAS Mk1 completely in AR and NE police force and these are few forces who are engaged in COIN ops day in and out. There it is competing neck to neck with various KM versions, Colt and Barett and performing quite flawlessly.

On why OFB has not installed a P-Rail on it is because its a Public enterprise. It would do changes based on specific user requirement and during the design process, IA or other users never asked for P-Rail on it.

Sarcasm on.
C'mon, you don't know the effort it takes to shift the scope mount from front facing to rear facing.
Sarcasm off.

let's wait for more details, may be they raised the indigenous content.
one visible difference is the new muzzle break / flash hider .
