New 1B1 :

1. Better metallurgy than 1B which helps reduce the weight but the outer body metal sheet is thicker than earlier ones insuring higher safety ..

2. Comes in Black..
3. Rifle Quality is improved..
4. Sound reduction..

How is the new 1B1 different therefore sir?

Indeed, But its an occasional snowfall over vegetated area may be for a week or two..

Sir, has the problem of the a low stopping power in an INSAS been rectified? I have heard people in the forces deployed in the borders that there have been instances where shots from an INSAS rifle has injured the target instead of killing...why is it that..??

Orange polymer in INSAS has changed to black color by OFB. All tbhe new ones are black.

In CT ops both Rifles are needed, Each is used in its own way, AK is used mainly in Close Quarter area specially spray and pray tactics, Where as INSAS is for Precision and accuracy so does range..

Yes, It is been improved with OFB rounds which are heavy than NATO counterparts and more lethal, Earlier Bullet were NATO SS109 which were good but were not very effective in close ranges, OFB 5.56mm is heavy than Nato SS109 round and are effective both in short and longer ranges, though AK is preferred mainly in close quarter combat coz of its slower and Heavy bullet have better Hydrostatic shock which works better in stopping Tangos..

Definition : Hydrostatic shock or hydraulic shock describes the observation that a penetrating projectile can produce remote wounding and incapacitating effects in living targets through a hydraulic effect in their liquid-filled tissues, in addition to local effects in tissue caused by direct impact.[1][2] There is scientific evidence that hydrostatic shock can produce remote neural damage and produce incapacitation more quickly than blood loss effects.

Though i would recommend Never underestimate a round, only because it's .22 diameter bullet.

Is it possible to mount holographic scopes or red dos in insas with out the help of railings?Did the soldier had to obtain permission from higher authority to mount scopes brought using his own money?

You can only mount scope ( red dot / reflex ) over railing only.. ( Picture posted in the thread only )

And yes you have to take higher permission to use it..

ARDE develops modern sub-machine carbine for Army

PUNE: The Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE), the city-based sister laboratory of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has developed a Modern Sub-Machine Carbine (MSMC) that can be fired with one hand. The carbine prototypes have been handed over to the Army for field trials.

"We are replacing the conventional carbines with lightweight single hand firing capability MSMC, which has new ammunition. All technical trials are successfully over. The carbine has now been handed over to the Army for field trials for one year," Director of ARDE Anil Datar told Sakal Times.

The MSMC, a 3 kg gun with optical sighting facility and laser pointer, has a 200m range and can be fired accurately using one hand only.

"We have used polymer technology to reduce the weight of the gun and it has a retractable butt. It has inbuilt safety features. Unlike the traditional carbine in use today, if a particular lever of the MSMC is put in a particular position, you cannot pull the trigger at all. The new carbine can fire 30 rounds - with single shot and rapid fire facility," Datar said.

The new MSMC is a 5.56 mm calibre gun with new propellants inside the weapon system. The work on this weapon began four years ago and it is now ready for trial.

"Four years ago, when we began work on this advanced weapon system for the infantry, we were working on a new concept. We have worked on the carbine's configurations for a substantial time. Today, this weapon has accuracy that is within the Army's needs and it can penetrate through body armour of the enemy soldier," he said.
