but compare with Vikranth class.
please look into the figure i gave above,
Vikramditya has less defence then any other AC's.
Vikrant is completely according to IN's commands. If we compare it to Western carriers then its natural since they park heavier & better fighters so defense systems on boards are according to their weight, parking lot. Also they have very very good complements in CBGs. They have got pretty good nuclear/conventional subs & other defense ships. I won't even talk about Nimitz since USN has damn gold ocean & can equip their ACs with space based defense too. :happy_2:

Our Gorky is small child & we even have depleted feet of subs to provide it adequate defense. I hope the situation will improve in coming years but reality is not so good. Plus I won't totally trust these schematics of AC defense, some actual systems be classified. So Gorky's air-defense WILL be just okay.

What about supersonic missiles? They are real threats now a days.
Wait for PDV test my friend. Once it is successful we can have ship-based BMD in place. So PDV will take care of these supersonic missiles. IN will be defining our CBG's escort very calmly & wisely.

If we want to install pdv in destroyer means we need to increase the displacement of project-15b to 10,000 tons, 6,800 ton is simply not enough.

No, we might need entirely different ship. IN should scout for such ship or place order to desi shipyard somewhere according to the PDV's BMD specifications.

Actually the data is wrong..
First it should be Viraat and it have AK-630 ( Only One spotted ) not AK-76 or any other 76mm..

Now if ancient Vikrant ( 1971 ), while construction Brits made enough space to have nos 40mm AAAs on sides and back WW2 type..
But again no 76mm..

It wont happen soon. Project-15B will use the same hull as project-15A. GoI gave approval to four project-15b class destroyers which is still in designing phase. If we start the project 15B now, the plan to built bigger ships to have BMD will get delayed so we must scrap the project-15b and we should start planning the heavier class destroyer.

I do not know. Maybe they implement PDV under existing BMD program. Because once developed PDV will find place under all IA, IAF, IN. And the deployment details are not decided. But yes, it ain't happening any soon.

The Modern Cavour and Vikrant are just if not more capable than the much larger Vikramaditya. Plus, far more efficient to operate! The Vikramaditya is an expensive compromise at best.

Expect to see it retired as soon as India can build three IAC's.

well at least we need 3 AC in the sea and one is on the ground

if we want counter both china and Pakistan then we must have 4 AC for IN

we have 1: 4 ratio against china

cross post, interesting observation:

http://www.upi.com/Business_News/Se...assail-JV-aerial-projects/UPI-40981281724776/

The aircraft is designed to be a major element in future armaments sales by Russia's state-owned Rosobornekhsport program. Sukhoi OKB director Mikhail Pogosian has predicted that Rosobornekhsport 1,000 aircraft over the next four decades. As the Sukhoi PAK FA T-50 is a joint venture with India, the Russian and Indian air forces will be the initial recipients of two hundred fighters apiece, with an additional six hundred being manufactured for export. Initial deployment is planned for 2015. A naval version of the Sukhoi T-50 PAK FA will be eventually deployed on the Russian aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov and future Russian aircraft carriers, as well as India's former Soviet carrier Admiral Gorshkov, currently undergoing a lengthy refit in Russia's Sevmash shipyard. The Admiral Gorshkov, a modified Kiev-class Soviet aircraft carrier, was purchased in 2004 by India and after refitting will enter the Indian Navy as INS Vikramaditya.
