Hoping Kolkata will get its act together is like hoping bihar will get its act together. Better to search for realistic solutions.

For East coast development, Odisha can play a huge role if they have green field city and EEZ projects along their coast, connected to AP and TN by good rail networks. MP should also get into the picture.

Both Odisha and MP have massive amounts of empty land, decent population sizes and sensible political parties running them, but neither have shown their potential in the last decade. If these 2 states develop, it'll add 150 million people to the development level of the likes of TN, Gujarat and MH.

PS: In the off chance that this actually happens, Odisha must ensure that it keeps out peacefuls through unconventional methods. That community has a habit of flooding any urban area that is developing. Odisha has an enviable 98% Hindu population and it should remain that way.
