It’s more than a stretch to call this night fighting, how does the ambush party target the enemy if there’s only 1-2 thermal imagers per party? More than likely they are firing up a flare

This Is just a slightly modified version of 1900s infantry tactics
Fair enough.
Just needed some clarity. Regardless. This is how our men operate in 2023. Kinda sad

‘Kinda’

the US has ‘owned the night for 30 years’

the PLA views the US as a peer, how long before the PLA can launch a campaign against a night blind India? Less than 10years more than likely

The kind of stuff US Police is using. Granted, Sheriffs are more akin to federal police but look at the ISR footage. It's reading thermal signature while maintaining a coloured view of the surrounding. They're apprehending pistol wielding schizos with such tech.

Not a knock on the Indian Military (I'm sure we use plenty of ISR on the borders) but it still boggles my mind how much resource and training Americans throw on a minor kinetic incident.

Not just the drone flying overhead but also the communication protocol for the officers responding on the ground and the drone pilot.
You would be laughed out of an IPS officer's office if you suggested such a thing here (and not because of lack of budget).

The reason is simple in US civilian gun market is very big and civilians have easy access to plenty of guns, and other stuff like NVDs so police there has to adapt accordingly. In India it is quite the opposite guns are very strictly controlled and even getting a license for one is very hard so here police have lack luster attitude about that. I think its a good thing for India, a highly militarized police force is not good as we can see in case of USA.

True, true. Its still pretty cool. Stuff like this would've wreaked havoc in the Red Corridor and we wouldn't have lost that many men beating it down with unending area domination patrols with zero ISR.
