Correction on my end...one Ex-9 PARA SF and one Ex-11 PARA SF....So Operatives. Even apna Ex-MARCOS and 26/11 hero Praveen Teotia said MARCOS are better , clearly. But chodo.
About MARCOS,Garud and NSG.....
You dont get to read a lot about MARCOS. Im sure they are up there with the PARA SF, but without much of public info available, its hard to assess.
Garud..new unit. Little success to talk about.
NSG ...Well definitely among the best among paramilitary units in the world. Holds the record for the largest ever hostage/civilian rescue. Holds the record for the second fastest done plane anti hijacking operation. But i wouldn put them in the same list as Military SOFs.. The job profile isnt the same.

PARA SF is our oldest SOF and they have opened their account with a bang in the 1971 war. and have carried out massive successful operations across continents. Cant ignore that.

The NSG isn't the most capable CT units in the world, that accolate would go to the UK CTSFO.

Thank you. I had enough of this Hollywood movie and video game BS and had to go out today. Happily read everyone's perspective. Gave me an idea of how fanboys talk after watching a western documentary or reading a western article.
Not to mention, some cases, the Slave mentality to the Goras are pretty damn strong.

Are the LeT and JeM swimming 10,000 kms to Uk these days and their unit is stopping those attacks or something?

I don't understand why the Commando tag was dropped and SF was adopted.

Even Garud and MARCOS don't call themselves Special Forces. (Garud Commando Force and Marine Commandos.)

Commandos are quite a specific combatant type- they engage mostly in direct action Ops.SFs refer to strategic units with full spectrum capabilities. IA adopted the term but never really adopted the mandate

Uh no. CTSFO is okay but they are just a super SWAT type unit.

the top CT units in the world are GIGN, GSG9, FBI H etc on the police/LE side but in terms of military no one gets close to the likes of CAG, DEVGRU and 22 SAS

We're talking capability, not prestige and glamour. The UK has the most comprehensive paramilitary doctrine and the most refined intelligence structure in the world bar none. Nobody does domestic CT better than them.

I'd kinda agree, but i'd argue their intelligence infrastructure makes them more capable than most other units.

What infrastructure? CTSFO are up-trained AFOs ( armed police officers). Top tier CT units like HRT/GISG9/GIGN have an entire pipeline with one mandate in mind as well as their own air wings. CTSFO aren’t even a National unit. It’s just a type of unit adopted in the U.K. after the rise in Islam attacks in W.Europe.

Yup it is, helmet mounted night vision is something Para SF doesn’t even use in combat. But here some fanboys were insisting, “no they have the wurldz besht ekwipment with them”.

The officer himself admitted that "andhera Ho Gaya tha thoda" on the video itself. Ill-equipped is the term for this unfortunate incident, don't see how someone excuse this

I was really expecting some recently done badass operation, thinking to myself that maybe i didn do my research on this unit which could backfire on my argument. But your response just made me stare blankly at the wall for 10 seconds.

Sure, but they're highly integrated into the UK's existing intel structure and are trained to the highest standards with close cooperation of the military's tier 1 units with regional hubs all over kinda like the HRT. The biggest factor in my mind is intel, not the kinetics.

That's what I am saying.

Although they have an SF tab, their mandate is that of a Commando unit.

And I have never seen a Marcos with an SF tab
