I wouldn't say leagues ahead, they're just a tad bit ahead.
Other than comtacs both marcos and garud are on the same pedestal. Both have HQ NVGs
Both have Good high cuts In large numbers. Garuds weapon handling is top notch as well. Both have great plate carrier and bpj's as well.

Meh , I think that MARCOS is still ahead , its shame that Marcos leads in terms of para gear in the field that the army was supposed to excel . Garuds are rather comparable to NSG . Although what trully amazes me about Garuds is their individual defined roles on just the tavor platform . They use 3 variations with exactly dedicated roles and attachments . Tar and CTAR for CQB and mid range encounters of around 500m and Star for DMR purposes . With the first 2 equipped with Mepro MOR reflex and IR illuminator and the star utilizing Nimrods , Mepro x6 and x4 and ACOGs . Where as the army uses star with either MARS×N/SEAS or MOR ×Mini hunter combos

NSG is under MHA so has to have IPS leadership to have equivalence across the ministry

DG post is administrative anyway, the entire operational leadership of SAG is from IA and force commanders will always be IA, in many cases from PARA SF.

There’s nothing wrong with this IMO, it’s probably the best way to optimise everyone’s strengths. IPS have done a fine job of modernising CAPFs. NSG isn’t a military unit and should be police nominally

The whole fight about Para Airborne and Para SF is additional hazard pay and prestige.

It's like converting an NIT into an IIT.

This is not the funniest thing..The funniest thing is officers like even Major Arya addressing SF in Patriot episode as "regiment" and still having the bias towards his Kumaon regiment and sometimes comparing it with SF.

That proves that the officer cadre have no idea what a SF is.

Airborne, they don't have Special forces tabs on the side neither the velcro to attach it

That's just not an Uzi at all. That's a suppressed MP7. And to avoid further rebuttals, that's not an MP9 either. The MP9 suppressor is girthier. No Indian forces operate with the MP7. Hence not Indian.

The Garuds are where the MARCOS were in mid 2010s. Their operational experience and recruitment is nowhere near the MARCOS.
