The thing that stands out to me is the magazine design, it has those grooves to make handling easy........
I don't think any other contemporary Desi rifle has those

No, it is a shame that our SF have equipment inferior to US Army infantry and Americans send their infantry for training with our special forces.

Sure we can go choyna way and kaapi-paste the required stuff at home but there are many technical specifications that should be precisely followed for a product to be successful and to imitate these things you do need high level of technical assistance,
or going choyna way of trial-and-error which they practically can afford because of their yuuge industrial base, "unlimited manpower" and large user base (exports i mean), at this stage we cannot.

No, I understand what you are saying. But it is a commodities capability. It requires machining, maybe at best lazer cutting. It's not rocket science to pay top dollar and higher an engineer consultant from the west to build inhouse. It's not like it's denied tech. It's very very low end tech.

No JSOC unit has crossed trained with us. 1 JSOC unit + Rangers have gone through CIJWS in the early days of the WOT

But in all fairness even if a JSOC unit did cross train with us we would never know as the Amreekans wouldn't allow it for OPSEC

There will be an RFI and then RFP and then some politican will say get Shifu under make in India.

Ideally 2/3 teams of very senior instructor/operators (NCO + Captain lev officers) should be sent to USA/Israel/UK under a long term 1/2 year training program under a Govt-Govt pack.

Many other non-nato countries already do this (aus / NZ /japan / Korea)

Then get those men back and re-write eveything from training to strategy and this working group should form a nucleas to educate CDS and Cabinet Secretariat
