And while our SF looks worse than a rag tag militia, here's the Taliban 313rd "Badri" SF battalion for you.
And true that equipment on a monkey won't get them anywhere, but supposedly these guys aren't you average Mujahid. They've been trained for special operations and night fighting. The level of uniformity in equipment also suggests independent procurement of some items rather than loot. Granted these guys wouldn't survive a bout with the SF of a battle hardened professional army but come on! A bloody terrorist organization has a better equipped "SF battalion" than potentially the largest Army in the world (by numbers). What a sorry state of affairs!

Looking at the plate carriers of the Badri battalion you can almost certainly say that those aren't looted items. But rather purchased. So if the Taliban can source those, how hard would battery packs be?
As for radies, they do have radios with PTT sets.

In older photos, they were wearing gamer headsets with no radio in sight, this is the first image I'm seeing in which they are rocking a radio

And just to make myself clear, I'm not talking finances or feasibility here. What I'm trying to say is that, this js high time, the leadership takes note and starts to actually implement changes and upgrade. And it is just simply appalling that the rapid modernization and the strife with China wasn't reason enough already. It's only a matter of time until, such equipment starts to trickle into the hands of the Kashmiri Mujahid. Especially after recent developments.

I wish they use stuff like this on the ops that we aren't suppose to know 😞

This was the exact question on my mind.

On one hand we see stuff like this and a few other pics that have come out in the recent past, which is definitely a significant upgrade from what we're used to seeing regularly.

Mind you, this is an actual op and not just a PR exercise..

But then out come pics where the gear levels are just abysmal.

I guess those units which belong to the northern command (4&9) have relatively better gear than the other units which ig come on rotational basis (1,2&10).

Take those Infantrymen plate carriers and get them the ones used by COAS security detail

Between this and the M4s
Only thing missing is ear protection, Comms equipment and decent NVGs other than the BEL single tube

Camo can go Fk itself, nobody gives two hoots at this point

Is there a specialised training course that these para SF operators go through for close protection duty before being assigned as the security detail of COAS (like firearm tactics, unarmed combat, combat driving, first aid, crowd screening and so on.) ??

Or just any operator is assigned to the COAS protection role?

Any information would be much appreciated.
Regards.
