Poor training attributed to the lack of continuity in training and absolute monopoly of Air Force over the PARA training and availability of AIR RESOURCES. No body behaves with the CHALTA HAI attitude at that altitude when the life is at risk!

In life resources will always fall short of expectations and realities. Therefore the concept of prioritising of crucial things. And there is no such concept here in this country. The Super Hercules can go to pick cargo and so called NRIs from xyz regions but will have 100s of excuses if you request them to come for conducting jumps.

There is College of Combat at MP and DSSC at Wellington quite good place

Weren’t the C130J Super Hercules with the mid air refuelling capability and other additional features meant to be mainly for SF use unlike the regular ones like this,

I think the main problem is IAF lacks sufficient transport aircraft and these ones are used to make up for the short number.
IMO our biggest Achilles heel was speen during the second wave of the China virus pandemic, when C 17s , IL 76 and C130Js were diverted to bring medical supplies from their deployments in Ladakh and other places. All it takes is one emergency situation to derail our entire logistics. We need more C 17 size aircraft ASAP, unfortunately it’s production like is shutdown and second hand opportunities are rare(although there are rumours the RAF are planning on downsizing their transport fleets to cut costs and might be a great opportunity, but I don’t think our MOD will wake up to swoop on this opportunity) C130J production line is open but we don’t really need more of this size class and are just diverting from the main issue of lack of c17 class aircraft.
Obviously can’t dismiss the regular turf war tussels between the services and MoD carelessness.
One solution could be is to set up a separate SF wing where aircraft are reserved only for SF use, like how Aviation Research Centre(now NTRO ) used to exist for intelligence ops. Perhaps based in Agra where SF para training is done if I’m not wrong.
