I would Also like to add to you and the general forum that the big army bullshit is prevalent here too. Aside from a couple of “look forward” units like mine (82nd. 173rd, and SOCOM, it’s pretty much a bureaucratic nightmare) Let’s a just say, when 1 ID or whom ever is sent from pac command to train with IA, it’e not to exactly the best representation.

the green weenie affects all.
True that, the grass seems greener on the other side. But we as an Army have a lot to catch up to. Evolve, Evolve and Evolve. That's the only way to stay relevant. Cheera

Good? Absolutely no. In a system that is man intensive and infested with unnecessary documentation at all levels, 3 years is too small a time. Also when you come in for that small a time with no/ less formal trg, your subordinates won't take you on your face value as a leader who can lead them into combat. I don't see this doing any good to the system.

He has served in QAT before joining COBRA and has many friends in QAT.
QAT guys use floodlight infact RR also use it. It's nothing new or funny. They do it as soon as they establish the cordon.
It shows how we are stuck in 1970s era procedures and technology.

The Quad NVG thing is from December, 2020 so possibly wasn't there where your relative was part of the team.

Even if they've got it they donot use it and I have this info on authority. And most likely the pics we've seen are trial pieces provided or bought from tonbo. Even SF has/had couple of pieces of dual tube NVG (can't vouch this info but it came from an operator who's sadly no more).

RIP SF Dude.

TONBO won't sell a few trial pieces. It will go for loss. Quantity may be from few dozen to 100. Below that no company will bother with the RFI.

Companies provide pieces for trials all the time. It's nothing new. But I hope it's a new beginning.

Everyone wants SF tag these days and you cannot have both quantity and quality at the same time. So first we need to rationalize SF and then modernization can follow. Our leaders need to define roles for those guys and only then we can get a true SOF otherwise they will keep hunting two cent tangos and you donot need special gears to hunt them atleast according to senior officials.

Sadly money is THE problem. We donot have much left after salaries and pensions and the leftover amount is reserved for most important programs and payments of ongoing induction. So nothing is left for SF. Everyone in army see SF as mere commandos and nothing more. So you see there is only so much they can get without stirring resentment among other units.
