I don't think that marcos were told it was some gang violence stuff.
Praveen said on a podcast that marcos were watching tv as everything was unfolding and were sure of the fact that it was terrorist attack and were wating for a call to go in.
Same thing was indicated by few others.
I might be wrong though.

What is your source for "ISI is clearing the mess it made" theory.
That is just a random theory being thrown around that ISI is doing so because they want to get out of FATF grey list.

SG has carried out operations which were later claimed by army units.
If they wanted SG to carry out 2016 raids then they could have let them do it and have some other unit claim the op.
I dont think sg was ever going to carry out that operation.

Even CIA do not use its special operations elements for assassination.
Its way easy to train a random individual with required skill to carry out such attacks.

If R&AW is letting SG or some permanent element carry out such attack then thats quite dumb.

Imagine a sg operator gets captured by ISI.
So much sensitive info could be leaked , not just about attack but also about the entire sg and special operations pipeline.

Tell me, if SG was the first choice to carry out the raid then they could have simply done so and army could have claimed that they did it.

Govt and army had complete control over flow of information after those raids.
There was no reason for 9 to go in.

9 was'nt in the raid, it was 1 Para and was lead by Lt Gen (then Major) PC Katoch who got Shaurya Chakra for that too.
And yes SG was the first choice becuase Operation Sundown predates Operation Bluestar

My opinion only: The Raid had over 200+ Combatants from ourside in total. Recon + Attacking Force + Blocking Force -

The greatest skill set on display was traversing Inhospital terrain, quickly and quietly. A host of Indian Army Conventional Troops have that capability - not the perview of SOF units only.

The Final Mission was a Seak and Destroy mission - no SSE or Battlefield interrogation or HVT rendition etc etc.

It was a classic Commando Op - no need for SG's skill set at all whatsoever.

Ya secret stash is kind of stupid. Considering what we've seen of intel agency based SMU's they dont use too much gucci gear, instead it's mostly what locals use. SG had AKs, VZs, MP-5s and CAR-15s back in the 80s and 90s when the rest of army got SLRs and sterlings, even SF. So taht might be why this came out.

I dont know man..with the sex scandal..with lack of even parachutes forget proper equipment and i dont know what motivation for combat they are trained daily i would very diplomatically say that..

if i am held hostage i would prefer 9 para rescue me anyday

SFF don't train for Hostage scenarios that extensively, their Hostage Rescue training is equivalent to ghataks of inf.

No one actually believes this secret stash theory he himself has been very critical about their gear and I from day have trusted those theories their gear is more or less the same just few scars and better setup on sigs and x95s this was more about their mission profile
